Go with the C-3. you can supposedly get nearly 50,000 shots out of an 8 dollar propane tank.

What's your budget?

Overall... I'd highly recommend the CCI Phantom series of guns. You can buy one according to your specific requirements, and they are fairly modular, so with some parts swaps you can change.

Centerfeed/Right/Left feed bodies... as well as stock class.
Vertical air, bottomline air, back-bottle air... etc.

You'd have to pick and choose according to what you'd like. My only recommendation would be not to pick a backbottle one, if you plan on using a relatively large air tank.
A used Phantom, depending on configuration, would set you back anywhere from $100-150. New ones anywhere from $150-250.

Other fine, yet inexpensive, pump choices:
Tippmann SL-68II (used)
ACI Maverick/PMI Trracer (same gun different name)
ACI Hornet/PMI Tagmaster (same gun different name)
You can find these used (or sometimes new) in the $40-60 range.

i think the best starter pump is the PGP.  Extremely low maintenance, simple, durable, accurate, and stock class.  Also, with some creativity, very upgradable.
