I am vaguely embarassed that I don't know this, but anyway...

My Automag is shooting low.  Fully cranked, with a super-tight ball/barrel match, I am barely getting it to 300fps.  With a looser fit I am lucky to get to 275.  Seems like I lost about 30-40fps from where it used to shoot.

Somebody please give me, or point me to, the 1-2-3 on what drives velocity in a Mag.

Thanks, as always.

Err, ah, I have to ask, have you tried running a little oil through the ASA?

Brucey has a good suggestion.

What kind of valve are you shooting??? X??

And what pressure are you running to the gun?

I did run some oil through the ASA.  No apparent effect.

The valve is an X-Valve.  Air is a variety of tanks, but all rated at 800-850 psi.

I am in the process of making sure that the ASA itself doesn't have crud in it, but it doesn't look like it.

Hmmmmm.... This wierd is. Well I would start with just a simple tear down of the Valve. Make sure that the 2 springs arent totally gooped up. They do have grease though. Check all the simple things and are you running a ULE trigger kit??

strip the valve down and clean it out. also make sure your not running it through an inline reg (doesnt sound like you are but i have to check). also try a slightly looser barrle (might be 2 tight)
