i think charging extra money for carry-on paint is bs. my friends uncle owns a shop in the southern states and he said he never heard of the extra fee. Some places were i live charge up to $30 for carry plus field fee. There paint sucks there to, i bought it once and ill just say that i will never buy paint there again, or go there. There Shouldnt be a carry-on.

If you want the field to fail, go ahead and take away their only real source of income.

'Tis true. Fields only survive because of selling paint. Even a lot of pro shops are like that.

I'm guessing that $30 includes field fee, paint fee, and all day air. It's not great, but it's not terrible. I can get all that for just $20 at my field, but a field I am going to this weekend will cost $30 but it's that high because they charge $13 for all day air.

My local field charges 25$ if you come before 2pm for all day air and bring your own paint. If you come after 2 its only 15$. They sell there own paint too but its regularly priced. The sell a variety of paint from Marbs to Diablo's.
The same owner of the field owns a store in the area call Bad Boyz Toyz. http://www.badboyztoyz.com/ - http://www.badboyztoyz.com/

| Very true but at Young Guns they let you bring your own paint free of charge. Most likely because they are sponsered by Spider.

I would suggest complaining to the field owner instead of us, that way things can change instead of just staying sucky. Around here, the fields I've been to either allow you to bring paint without a charge or you have to use field paint. I usually don't go to the FPO places because they tend to have crappy stuff and overcharge you for it but I'm sure they wouldn't do that if people weren't paying. Talk to the owner, maybe he'll change his policy or at least offer better paint.

I wanted to see what other people think, and if they have to pay becaue $10=field fee + $20 for carry on, all day air is another $15, there paint is around $53 after tax.

Solution 1: Play at another field. That'll learn'em.
Solution 2: Start your own field, and don't charge a carry-on fee. That'll learn'em double.
Solution 3: Take up volleyball.
Capitalism. Learn it. Love it.

Alot of fields don't even allow carry on paint unless you had already
bought the paint at that field.
Bcause (allow me to reiterate) paintball fields make most if not all of
their profit from paint sales.
Face it brother, your into an expensive hobby your gonna have to
pay if you wanna play.
If you really want to save cash go back to playin stock class. Stock
class is more fun anyhow IMHO.

Refer to my sig.
Why not just buy their paint if you are paying $30 for a carry on fee? It would cost the same.

I work at a field, its BYOP, except for special events and rentals.
There is another local field, they are FPO or GTFO.
Take your pick, you're lucky you have the option to bring your own paint.

quit complaining about a field fee. You obviously don't know how hard it is to make a living with a paintball field.
It's a full-time job, with part-time pay.

E-Jam Indoor- BYOP on special days (white fill only), Entry $22, Air $11, and paint $50-60. All you can shoot fridays for $80.
E-Jam Outdoor- Always BYOP, Entry $22, Air $11.

Oh, used to be somewhere in Neosho MO, at the Brass Eagle factory you could play on their field for $10. Everything was free. Paint, Air (both kinds), any kind of rentals... It was heaven. Plenty of arrogant tourney guys to shoot, also.

| well damn if retired war vetrans can do it than why cant most people to it? I think that its just like the gas companies, tricking you into thinking that they will go out of buisness if they dont charge a <poopy> load of money.

They won't go out of business, they just won't run a profit. Which means at some point they will go out of business
Costs: Insurance Bunkers Refs Paintballs Parts Compressors CO2 Tanks Rental Guns Parts to fix rental guns Maintenance on fields
That's not cheap stuff. They want to actually make money so they charge alot.
The field I play at has 1 field, no refs(players ref), no CO2, and no proshop. Gets stuff at dealer prices so if someone needs something he gets it. He doesn't offer any rentals. It's like a team field.
The owner drags around a trailer with a compressor for air, and allows BYOP. Only brings enough paint for a day when most people bring their own.
He charges $50 for entrance, air, and a case of paint.
How much more do you think he would charge if he started doing all the stuff I said he doesn't do?

Wasn't he paying around $150 per case?

the place i used to play at in mass was $25 for entrance and lunch. byop if you were a walk on FPO for rentals (150$ a case) this was around 1997
down here in virgnina its 10$ for entry 10$ for HPA (all day) 5$ for a half filled 20oz. crappy paint is 45$ a case and a 30$ charge if you bring your own. not to mention the fields are poorly staffed and the refs they have dont do their job.
i dont have a problem with FPO but dont gouge the heck out of players sell it at a fair price. $80 a case for something you can buy 2 miles away for $60 is crap. (i have quit paintball for the most part. although i doubt i will sell off all my guns im trying to cut back to 5 or 6)

The place I played at was owned by one of the local paintball shops. $10 got you on the field with all day air, two refs, $5 all day rental if you didn't have a marker and byop. He had all kinds of paint, the cheapest being around $35/case up on to $50/case for the good stuff.
But the guy wasn't too bright. Tried burning a hornets nest inside one of the outbuildings adjacent to the field. Ended up burning that building down and almost lost the truck that was parked inside. The field has been down and he closed his store right after. Rumor has it, that was where he stored his compressor and the insurance company wouldn't pay.
