So, I am at my grandmother's house, my brother and two cousins are here as well (all under 9). Well my grandma is the only legal adult here, but she needed some spraypaint for something. I told her that I thought there was some law about having to be 18 to buy spray paint, but she said she hadn't heard of it and proceeded to call Sears. Well the person that picked up the phone in the paint department assured her there was no restriction. Obviously, I drive 10-15 minutes down to Sears, and go to buy the spray paint, and what do you know, there is an age limit. It was even the same guy that had talked to my grandma on the phone (and she had even mentioned that I would be coming down there, he asked if it was my grandma who called). Well I think he was going to let me do it anyway because she had called, but some other asswipe saw it and told him I was not allowed to buy the paint unless I can show him an ID saying I'm over the age of 18. Perfect example of a few morons (kids sniffing paints) taking away my right to buy spraypaint. |

Hmm. I bought spray paint about a week ago. It was supposed to be matte

I bought a bottle of canned air (air you can spray to clean your keyboard or computer) and they checked my ID.

i thought it was due to vandalism, not huffing spraypaint. Might be a mix of the two, though. but yeah, i think the law in general is ridiculous. There is even an age limit on fumeless paint REMOVER. How ridiculous is that. "yeah, we're going to clean up the vandalism in our town... take THAT society!" ------------- X |

yea, and in the county of NY i live in you have to be 19 to buy tobacco products whats the age limit on stuff like that in canada? driving, alcohol, tobacco, etc? |

Yea, they even tell you in school anyone can buy them.....people are so stupid. And me and a bunch of friends went up to Ace Hardware and bought TONS of spraypaint,we all had backpacls and looked guilty of somthing and their like what you need it for and were like ummmm...painting a firends bike and their like oooooooook and we got tons of it.AND to make thinga better i buy a $00.99 push pop, give the lady a $5 and she gives me 5 singles abck..so i grab the push pop and walk out lmfao. -------------

Never been carded for spray paint or lighters, however, I was carded at Gamestop when I bought Oblivion for the PS3. I've also used credit cards that weren't mine numerous times and I was never once carded. -------------

True but most of the people workin for the store dont know that. My friend tried awhile ago and the lady at Walmart told him he was underage so he told her fine I'll just have to go have unprotected sex and she still didn't give him them. -------------

hah, yeah any age can buy condoms, i've never been carded for condoms, i use my dads credit card at stores all the time yet to get carded, never been carded for video games rated M or anything like that |

The cashiers have to card you at Best Buy when you purchase M rated games. We are supposed to fire them on their first offense if they don't do it. It's the CEO's way of showing America that he is taking action against corruption of the youth by forcing them to ask older people to buy the game for them. Just like alcohol.

the second time i bought a firearm i wasnt carded. paid cash too.
when i used to chew tobacco after about a week of me turning 18 the place i bought it from stopped carding me because they recognized me. -------------

I was once carded for gasoline. The clerk didn't think I looked old enough to drive and wanted to see proof.
At the casino they've gone over my id with a fine tooth comb. I've had up to seven people, five of them cops, check it front and back, and quiz me on the information, all on a single trip. Once inside I was subject to numerous stops and checks. -------------

BS Maybe it should be legal to buy all this stuff so long as the purchaser has no criminal history? Sure it will still get in the hands of people who don't use the stuff right, but at least the majority isn't penalized. |

lol @ buying rubbers at walmart I got carded on Dead Rising the other day, and I'm 20. I just laughed at told the guy "Joke's on you, it's a fake ID and I'm going to home to get high on this right now!!!!" Seriously, we as a society are lame with rules like that. -------------

I'm 19 now so I can legally huff all the paint that I can get my hands on. My best story regarding ID's: I once went into a Mobil station (all the mobil's around here are strict as balls on IDing for alcohol and tobacco). Me and my now ex-girlfriend enter the store, I buy a bic lighter and get carded by the douchebag.. and my girl buys 4 packs of cigarettes without getting questioned at all. She's 17, and let's just say her cup size was above average. I always hated that crap.. she seriously did it on purpose and got free stuff all the time from people. I wish dudes could be whores for stuff like that. |

I've been going to rated R movies with my friends without being carded since I was 14. I was the one vouching for my older friends. Here is what pisses me off. On the back of my credit card where you are supposed to sign your name I wrote CHECK MY <poopy> ID!!!! so that if my card is ever stolen I have a legitamate claim that it wasn't me. Well I was in a Subway the other week and the guy takes my card, flips it over to look at the signature, shrugs and then proccesses the card. I flipped out. When I bought San Andreas at Walmart the other day they didnt ask if I was of age. But of course I look 'bout 3-4 years older, or so I'm told. I have been able to buy Ciggarettes since right before my 16th birthday. They just dont really care around here. -------------
