i just installed a new stock on my 98 so i had to open it up. It looked like everything went fine until i went outside and put  a few balls in. As soon as i cocked it all the balls simply fell out of my barrel on to the ground. Can anyone think of any reason for this or a possible fix. Is there something i missed when i put it back together. What piece keeps the balls in after you cock it? Thanks alot for the help.

Just so you don't put it in backwards, here's a naff ASCII diagram for you:

REAR BOLT > POWER TUBE > DETENT > BARREL

|||||||||| > |||||---==== > __//__  > =====

You have to make sure that the top of the detent is facing into the barrel, so it holds the ball, the wrong way round just will mean the balls are gonna run out of the barrel like they are now (or you have it in the wrong way now).

If you've lost it and have some new ones on order, here is a guide to make a temporary one:

Not really. Seems that your marker has just died. Happens sometimes. Be sure to dispose of it in a "green" way. Wouldn't want any of that aluminum alloy or any latent CO2 emissions  to pollute the environment.

Hey, I know, you could send it to me and I'll make sure it is buried correctly and deeply in a dry salt dome in southern Utah, where its toxic components can never impact the environment. Heck, just to assure that it is disposed of correctly, I'll even pay for the shipping. Just let me know and I arrange for a FedEx pickup.

Bruce could be correct. I'll top his offer with an extra $5.

Bad Bruce, Bad Robo.  You shouldn't lead the young players astray like that.  Everyone knows that for proper environmental protection, used 98 series markers must be stored in old entertainment system cabinets that have been properly recycled to serve as paintball equipment storage units.  The combination of oak and glass provides complete protection from harmful paintball play related emissions.

Oh, wow; I just realized I happen to have one of those.  In the spirit of protecting the planet I would also be willing to take the marker off of Knale's hands for proper storage. (If necessary. I'll throw in $10 over shipping costs.)
