I ordered a marker a couple days ago off of Specialopspaintball.com, which uses UPS to ship. I checked the tracking information in my account on SO, and it just told me that it shipped together, and gave me a link to the UPS tracking information page. I checked that page, and it hasn't changed for a couple days. All it says is:
| Package Progress |
| Location |
Date |
Local Time |
Description |
SALT LAKE CITY, UT, US |
06/21/2007 |
10:40 P.M. |
DEPARTURE SCAN |
|
06/21/2007 |
6:31 P.M. |
ORIGIN SCAN |
|
I might be jumping the gun, but I want to make sure that this is normal for a package to not get checked at any UPS warehouses for three days. It seems odd to me that ground shipping, from Utah to New Jersey, and there are no stops/scans along the way. Man I hope it's not lost in the mail.
Has anyone had this happen to them?
(wow, I sound like I'm having a nervous meltdown )
Edit: The quote text is white for some reason :/ Just highlight it.

Well your post count is only 272.75 times more than mine.
Also, just because I ahve a low post count doesn't mean I can't ask a question.

Actually, on the Tippmann Forum's, outside the New Players and the Which Gun is Best sections, you must submit all threads to either Enos Shenk or choopie911 via a pm. It's a hassle at first, but it's only for the first 250 posts.

Just to go back to the original topic...
Usually it won't scan again until it hits your local distribution point. Rarely do I have a package actually scan at a seperate dist point mid-way from the left coast (I'm in VA).
Given it's Ground, and it's only been 3 days to include the weekend, you're not gonna see much progress or info.
You should see an estimated time of arrival at least... maybe it'll show Mon/Tues.
Otherwise... I'd give it til the end of the week before you start panicking. The fact that you have a tracking number that actually does show it shipped means it's FAR from being "lost".
If you don't receive it late this week, then I'd guess you'll see it the first week of July. If after the first week of July, you still have no package... then I'd consider it MIA. Not until then.

Well, monday or tuesday does sound reasonable, so I guess I am worrying too much. I wasn't given an estimated time of arrival though.

Spec Ops is so friggin' busy that it takes them 1 1/2 weeks to process/ship an item. I just placed an order about a week ago. Call them by phone and you should get very personable service.

Actually, It got shipped same day 'cause my order was over $199.
So it's just UPS that's taking up time.

Thanks.
I'm not normally impatient, it's just that I don't like ordering anything that costs alot off of the internet or from catalogs. In the last couple months, my dad ordered two things off the internet, at different times and from different sites, an both of those items got lost in the mail.
So yeah, bad experiences.

I used to work at UPS as a truck loader. And they actually do work on Saturdays, but not sundays. But most likely what the problem is, is that the loader of the truck just forgot to scan your package. You see, they push everyone to go so fast at those loading stations that somtimes you load a package without scanning it by accedent, it is real easy to do. Your package should arrive on time, and paintball markers usualy make it through with little damage.

What he means is; you'll get the gun in october, and nothing more than a bent barrel is considered outstanding service.

| LOL! Somtimes.
Yea, after working for UPS, my opinion for them has only become lower. But if the scenario that I gave is true, which most of the time is the case, then your package should be ontime. But, if somthing else happend like the truck breaking down, or they loaded it on the wrong truck (which happens all too often) then yea, expect it to take a few weeks. Maybe a month.

You'll probably get it soon.
You should go to well known sites though, and you should definatly
research sites before you buy.
A Paintball Marker is a big invstment, you don't really want it damaged...no
one would.
I hope it works out for you.

Well the site I ordered it from, Specialopspaintball.com, worked with Tippmann to create the x7 and mods for it. So they seemed trustworthy.

Why not just give UPS a call and check on the progress. They can give you more info tehn anyone on this board. Trust me I work for the USPS and I don't put much faith in tracking #s
