Greeting all.

I just installed my new vertical adapter (preparing for x core) and screwed my co2 into it and I can hear a tiny hissing of air. I used one layer of teflon tape if that means anything. What should be my next move as to fixing the hissing. Should i use more teflon or could something else be wrong. The vertical adapter is screwed all the way into the power tube, it was very tight getting it to screw all the way in.

pls. help, thx.

update, i took apart the marker agian last night right before i layed down. Wrapped with more teflon, and tried it again. Still leaking, did some reading and the power tube isnt cracked. I have only played with the gun 4 outtings. The threads where the vert adapter screws into the powertube are still good. No misthreading or stripping. It is rather tight but still not stripped.

any takers on why it would still be leaking after sitting a day. Even locktite would have sealed by then right.

any takers on troubleshooting, thanks.

Well, I got the GTA expansion chamber and Tippmann included some red locktite to put on the vertical adapter threads. It worked like a charm and I've never had a leak so maybe try some red locktite. As for the teflon, did you wrap the threads like twice and make sure the teflon is pushed into the threads almost? The teflon should be really tight around the threads and I think you are supposed to wrap it counter-clockwise(someone correct me if I'm wrong)??

yea i have taken it all apart and i think the red loctite might just have to do the trick. I dont see my self taking it off and this time after the locktite i might just have to leave witht he tiny leak. Hopefully the red loctite will do. How long did you let the loctite sit before you put pressure on it.

Day 2 update:

I put a co2 bottle with just a little air in it and it fire off into a burst of dry fires. Somewhat like semi auto (I do have the RT trigger). Uncertain of why so I installed a co2 with a different amount of air and it fired one shot like it was supppose to.

I did use the red loctite but i am wondering if just maybe some loctite leak into the valve of the powertube, first question.

second question is the gun is still leaking, very little, but I can still hear it. Would effect the my co2 usage that much it I just played with the leak. Im not sure what else to try and getting some what tired of taking it apart and unscrewing the vert adapter. One of these time i think the power tube is going to crumble in my hands.

thanks for any advice given!

Read post #16 for suggestions on sealing...and to understand the construction of the power valve and where a leak may actually occur.
