What's your position on embryonic stem cell research?

From what I understand, aborted fetuses can be used for such research, which in my mind is perfectly fine. However, creating a human being simply for this is immoral.
Also, we are able to use stem cells from the umbilical chord to similar effect I believe, which could also be very prosperous.

I'm pretty sure he is trying to get you to talk about the fact that stem cells are the most likely candidate for curing diabetes.

Mi girlfriend has Diabetes, and she doesn't take care of it, she only cares about injecting her insuline, and do exercise, but she doesn't watch what she eats.
My question is, how do you think I can come about to make her understand it's bad for her not to watch what she eats?
She knows she shouldn't do it, but still, for depression or what it may be, she doesn't take good care of herself.

I do have to inject insulin. I do however have an Insulin Pump which makes things much easier.

I myself have never had a seizure due to my diabeticism(word?). The worst I've had was: my blood glucose level when diagnosed which was 600+mg/dl and my lowest had been 32mg/dl. Keep in mind that it is supposed to be between 80-180, and preferably 80-120.

I can feel for your girlfriend.
There is a huge misconception about diabetes, and that is that we can only eat certain foods. Of course we should eat right, however we can eat whatever we feel like, just like someone who is not diabetic.
But to your girlfriend's situation. It is really hard to try and persuade someone into taking better care of themselves with this disease. My last girlfriend would kind of 'force' me into checking my blood sugar whenever we were together, and that motivated me some what.
The only thing that I can suggest is to make her vividly imagine what is going to happen to her down the road: Losing limbs, losing your eye sight, kidney failure, and more. These are really the only things that motivate me to keep taking care of myself, however inadequate it may be. Also, just be there for her. Comfort her, and firmly ask her to check her blood sugar or kind of 'force' her to.
I will say that since I had gotten my insulin pump, my disease has become MUCH easier to deal with, and it's essentially a whole new life. Has she thought about using it, if she hasn't already?

No, I'm not fat. I have Type 1 (Juvenile) diabetes which can be caused by many things, doctors and scientists aren't quite sure as to what causes it yet. The second type, Adult Onset, is often found in people whom are overweight, or obese.

My grandpa never watched what he ate and he was HUGE so i used to watch him inject insulin and i would cringe...he would lift his shirt up and just jab it into his stomach.

I'm not sure how severe one is compared to another. Currently, type two can be controlled more easily than type one, by things such as exercise. There are also pills you can take to replace injections for type two. However, there is an inhaler to replace injections some of the time for type one being developed.
Splenda? Meh. I still prefer real sugar, not only because of the taste but because it is better for you. That isn't to say that I won't eat splenda products, such as drinks, pies, or breads.

Asking her if she has made herself a blood test is out of the question, she only wants to make a test without anyone else knowing how she is doing, she sometimes just tells me 'she is not doing fine', but that's all.
I don't want to start a drama about it, but we actually just finished about a month ago, due to the fact that we are living in different cities now. Sorry, just had to say it.

| How about some cake? cake is always better than a cookie, however a cupcake, takes the goodness of each one, the small edible size of the cooke and mixes it with the deliciousness of the cake... thus making it the winner.
