What is the best way to clean the outside of the gun to prevent paint from chipping or peeling away which my gun is starting to do?

I just wipe the outside of mine with a rag, but if your paint is peeling that might break off some paint.

Take all the paint off and redo it better so that it actually sticks to the gun.

Unfortunately, this happens to paintball guns, especially Tippmanns, which don't have the best finish in the world. In my opinion, the chipping paint just adds character, unless you have a "showcase gun," in which case you'll do well to follow Robo's advice and repaint it.

ok thanks but i also heard that rubbing alcohol is a good thing to clean the outside of your gun with.

Alcohol will clean off oils from the surface, but it won't preserve the paint job. Tippmann was cheap with the original paint job. A good powdercoat can handle a beating, like the new paint job Tippmann does.

Yes the new paint is stronger. It's also more flat of a black than the older paint which is kind of shiny.

"Dust black", whatever that is.

My A5 sure could use a new paint job. The old paint is flaking off quite badly now and I don't like that metal to be exposed. Guess I know what I'm doin on my day off.
