Hey, this is probably a stupid question.  I searched but couldn't find any info.  I'm new to paintball.  I have always liked the looks of the tippmann.  I wanted to know what is the difference in the A-5 E and the 98 custom pro act e?  Which gun is better?  Thanks guys/gals.

Well besides the fact, that they are different formats but use the same internal system, the A5 has a cyclone and the custom pro has act (anti-chop technology). That's about the difference. I would suggest the C Pro with a Halo B hopper or something of the like. This way, you can switch guns in the future and still have a hopper that will feed as fast as you need.

We will most likely be playing in open fields, and woods.

thats exactly what I did, I had an Autococker and already had an Egg Evo hopper, my 98c has the ACT bolt and I have yet to chop a ball, my problem was learning that the Flatline is picky on paint and I was getting some barrel breaks but always had a clean chamber, the ACT does its job and Im thankful for that, my friend has a 98 without it and hes not always so lucky and he has an Empire something, its not just a standard hopper and yet he sometimes has chopped paint at the chamber even though his hoppers plenty fast enough for things, if you opt for a 98 get that ACT version for sure

Im actually thinking of getting a Cyclone though just so I can get one of those offset 400 rounders from Allen paintball and I wont have to worry about batteries, thats always a pain to have to change those alot

either way a-5 or 98 you can't go wrong, its about all we see and go up against playing guys in the woods around here and theres plenty of mods and upgrades for each gun, definately no shortage there

I use an A-5 and I rarely chop balls. I shoot about 14 a second fully automatic. The past five full days of playing or so I haven't chopped a single one. Both setups can be good, it just comes down to the paint that you're shooting really.

Id opt for a a5,the cyclone has yet to ever let me down, you can also run the ricochet hopper (base line one cheap) and im run`n now at 15 bps very soon 30

I wouldn't get a hopper that can hold more than 200 paintballs. Reason why is because I would see it as I should shoot more because there is a lot of paint still in my hopper. I try not to shoot over a case each day.

Ricochet is only a 210 hopper and it vs other hoppers deflect, well worth it

90% of the kills i get are hoppers or mask...first thing that has to come out

I use an X-7 hopper with my A-5. It fits nicely and it's a lot sleeker.
