Proto is Dye's sub company. Its basically all the cheap versions of the DMs. It has a cheaper board (until the PM7 all PMs came stock with only semi). It does not have a UL frame, UL barrel, nor the self cleaning eyes. It is also larger than the DM model of the same year.
And last year Dye released the new products around Nov-Dec, I think. -------------
