Anyone ever use a TV Tuner for the computer? Where you can watch tv, record stuff, fast forward/rewind? I'm thinking of getting one, but I heard the quality isn't that good, but some people said it's not really that bad. Opinions?

Yeah, but your vid card must have video capture in order to do that.

We had a media PC for years and loved it. You can record it at any quality you want, but of course the file size is a lot larger at higher qualities.

I just got a new laptop and picked up a tv tuner with it. The set up was fairly easy. Quality is great, I don't know if it's because of my video card or if it would be good on any setup. Mine game with an antenna for local channels, a coax connection, and rca/s video. Very easy to use and quite enjoyable if you don't have a tv by your computer. They can be kind of pricey, but mine was worth it because we can't have tvs in our rooms as freshmen.

I have an HP laptop. The tuner card and all of the accessories from HP is a bit over one hundred, but you can find the exact same thing for 50 on ebay. I'd imagine it be similar for any laptop really.

Desktop stuff is usually cheaper than laptop stuff also. I looked around, for some of the best ones they are 100 new, and like 80 on ebay. A middle of the road one is like 30-50, so not too bad. And my computer is situated perfect it right in front of my bed, and i have a couch in my room and you can see it from everywhere. It's like the best place to put a TV, and the computer is there anyways so I'm just going to go with that since everyone said they are pretty good.

Off topic, but you have been hauling a crap load on Trukz. Every time I think I am going to catch up to you on the driver rating you are always so much further ahead. I have been stupid with my money so I had to downgrade my truck. I just paid off all my loans and going to try to get some more money to get a better rig. I guess I am just trying to say, Bravo.

If you want HD capability, you'll need to spend more.
