Well my sunglasses broke, the frame snapped (right side, just below where the shaft thingy connects).  I could possibly weld it back together, but that would look stupid and the lens is chiped anyway.  Need some suggestions, the only requirement is that they be NON-POLARIZED.

Because polarized lenses present problems in some situations.  The pair I had were military issue since the 60s, so I think I might get another pair exactly the same, but it always pays to look aroudn first.

I wear whatever I pick up for $20 when I'm in clothing stores. I had some pricier Ray-Bans, but I sat on them, and decided expensive sunglasses were lame for me.

I had some expensive ass sunglasses one time. I stopped using them probably 2 weeks after I got them. I had to be too careful with them. Now I have some clip-on sunglasses that I never use either.

I hated sunglasses... They gave me nasty headaches until I actually got good ones. Now I wonder what I ever did without them.

They're Oakleys and they're black, other than that I dunno...

So I'm not the only one...aviators give me epic headaches, which really sucks, because I wear them all the time.

Mine look a lot like this. Special ordered them with "pearl black" lenses for poker... Only problem with them is that, in darker environments, it can be hard to see the cards...

He can't get polarized because many aircraft have polarized canopies.

And polarized on polarized is asking for trouble.

I love my raybans... they will take a beating.

I'm not a fan of Oakleys. The same thing without the logo will cost you maybe 10-20% in any other brand.

The only exception I make is for the ballistic protected ones. those are pretty good.

I'm sorry to all those I'm about to offend-

But if you dont "get" designer sunglasses, please dont hate on those that do.
I've been paying 100-200 per pair of sunglasses ever since I can remember.

Its just something I want to do. Sure, I can get the same for cheaper.. but
hey, its my money.

Same thing goes for people who are like "omg why would u spend 5000
dollarz on a watch mine was $10 and still tellz time!"...obnoxious as all hell

Maybe not the same, but no perceptible difference to anyone who doesn't spend time reading pamphlets.

I'm harsh on sunglasses anyway. I'm not gonna spend that kind of cash on something that's gonne get scratched or broken anyway- and I don't want to get sunglasses I'd be afraid to wear/use normally because of how much they cost.

Um... Still no. Cheap sunglasses are just tinted panes of cheap plastic. A lot of what you're paying for with Oakleys, Raybans, etc... is the research that goes into making high grade, lightweight lenses and frames that will block light and not harm your eyes.

It has nothing to do with pamphlets. I get massive headaches with cheap sunglasses... For the longest time I thought I just couldn't wear sunglasses. Then I figured out both through reading about it and through trying a pair for a bit that good sunglasses make all the difference.

No more headaches. I can wear my Oakleys all the time and they actually shield my eyes from UV damage rather than just make it look darker. Huge difference.

Designer glasses are also much better quality. I have tried knockoffs, and for 10-20 bucks a piece, they fall apart, the lenses pop out, the arms come apart, ect. I have had my oakley's for like 2-3 years, so they are well worth it, considering how many pairs of cheapo glasses i would have went through by now.

I had cheap sunglasses where the lenses would actually distort whatever I was looking at...it would give me a bad headache after a while. So I invested into a pair of expensive namebrands, and have been happy ever since. $50-100 is a lot to spend on a pair of sunglasses, but you have got to treat them a little more carefully...don't just throw them on your car seat where you will sit on them next time you enter the car...buy a $10 hard case to protect the investment.

On the same note, I hate it when people brag about their overpriced fashion accessories. Of course, I have things I spend more on that you might not, but in reality, as you said, it's just money.

And nobody here has insulted people who spend $$$ on their sunglasses, the general note has been that alot of us had previously spent extra to get the designer brands and found that it wasn't worth the extra.

God, I can't type today...
