Here's a general trying to get soldier capitalized since Marine is.

GO search the AP for a story on anything related to the Marines and it will be capitalized if talking about a US Marine. Hell, even Encyclopedia Britannica capitalizes Marine when talking about US Marines. Oh.. and CNN too...

I got a 74, I was happy with it. I scored the intel job I wanted. No studying, no cares. Hell, your going in the Marines, your score barely matters!
If you wanna go shoot stuff (yes, I'm being sterotypical) I'd go in the Army and get a NICE bonus, and find somone who is in the Army and get them to "refer" you. Said person gets $2k, and could split it with you. However I will assume that you want to be a Marine because you are determined and want to be part of an elite group of soliders that have proved themselves. That I commend you for wanting to serve your country. I on the other hand have DEP'd with the country club... Go Air Force!

98god, with a 74 you will be able to do anything you want, aslong as you don't get dq'd at MEPS for anything. And by " you will be able to do anything ", enjoy them picking your job. I'm sure you already know that you pick a field and they pick your actual job.

If you ask me, "marines" should not be capitalized unless referring to a specific group of marines, such as the US Marines, the (Insert your town name) Marines (Insert your sport) team, etc.

Rednekk- What MOS were you trying to get into? Seems like you did pretty well. I don't remember my GT and all that jazz but my ASQT was a 74 and with the Army that almost made me a flippin genius. In the Marines it made me a genius and in the Navy and Air Force it made me average and maybe a little above (but not much)

It depends on the intel. I missed out on "Imagery Analyst" but I got Inteligence Applications which covers a broad range of intel subjects. The different branches have differenct requirments for the same intel position. Again like everything else it just depends.

Well.. it's complicated. My primary MOS was technically Intel Intercept Operator, 2631. I just don't generally discuss it because the exact nature of the MOS and my entire secondary MOS designation is protected under an NDA for another 85 years.
Suffice to say, we have folks on the Intel side, especially on the intercept and linguistics side of the fence, assigned to Ops that aren't talked about in public.

My MOS is becoming more and more tactical with each mission outside the wire. Two years ago we were all in interogation booths, recently i found myself in a stack getting ready to clear a room.
Because of the tactical nature of the MOS, if you get like a 350 on your PT test and can tie your shoes they will put you through the 97E school and collections course.
I know a guy... he's an E-2, he got a 34 on his ASVAB and got it waved.
Yeah, he failed out.
Someone mentioned your military "job" Yeah, my mos is tittled "Interrogator" but i work in a battle lab, its really a lot of fun, i like the army.
