I play cs when I go to my friends house he has css and just straight cs out of
the two I like source the best. The only thing I don't like is the dynamic
pricing you can turn on because it jacks the price up on what was originally
a cheap weapon. But like I said you can turn it on and off in your server so
you can just play in a different server.

1.5 was best.

However, CS is dead.

source has a LOT better graphics and maps, but runs sooo much slower on
my computer than regular CS did

if you have a pimpin' gaming computer then go for source

Is there any return policy on games bought on steam? My computer meets the required stuff, but in some areas it doesn't meet the recomended stuff. So if I buy counter strike source and it is too slow or doesn't work is there like a 30 day return policy so I can get my money back?

I'm pretty sure Steam is no refunds, as with most digital download sites. Have you ever played Half-Life 2? If you not can buy that, and CS:S comes with it, so you're not really risking anything.

Otherwise, what are your PC specs? The Source engine isn't the biggest RAM hog I've ever played, but you're going to need a decent video card to enjoy it.

Minimum: 1.2 GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, DirectX 7 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP/ME/98, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Recommended: 2.4 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

< minmax_bound="true"> check_section( 'sys_req', 'open' );

I have a 1.3GHz processor, 512MB RAM, ATI mobility radeon 7500 video card, I use XP, and I have a mouse, keyboard and internet connection.

I think I might buy half life 2, because then I have the refund option and it looks like a good game. How much would it be?

NOT SURE. EITHER REGULAR OR SOURCE

You still won't get a refund, but you can get HL2 at Gamestop or Best Buy of 20 bucks.

Based on your system, though, especially considering RAM, I wouldn't go with Source, I'd defintately recommend the original CS. Your framerate is going to suck, plus you won't get to see all the benefits of the Source engine anyway. Even HL2 is going to suffer a little on your system.

If I buy counter strike from steam it comes with condition zero as well. I was wondering what is the difference between counter strike and counter strike:condition zero?  You said it would suffer because of my ram, but it meets the required  and recomended amout.

So when it has the minimum and the recommended do you pretty much have to meet the recommended for it to work properly?
