I recently bought a 98 custom from a friend with an expansion chamber, flatline barrel, and a double trigger.  When I try to fire it, it will shoot one ball and the stutter for a second or so before recocking.  Took it apart, and the ball detent was bent, so I put a spare one in and got one good shot before it stuttered again  Any ideas?  I also went though it and put new rings and oiled it up, is there a possibility I messed something up while I had it apart?

Is the ball detent in correctly? What do you mean by stutter? Does it do a few quick pops then recock itself?

Ball detent is in correctly.  By stutter, I mean it acts like its out of co2 for a second or so until it recocks.  I think I may have fixed it though.  I twisted the spring on the sear recocks quicker(if that makes sense), and that seems to have solved the problem

A weak sear spring could prevent the sear from returning to position as quickly as it should. Thus it will miss the notch in the hammer. Also could be a worn sear...the engagement edge is no longer as sharp as it should be.

look for 1 at any hardware store, for a 98 custom ur lookin at sumtin that is around 5/32"-3/16" in diameter, ask for a strong spring, the downside is they dont carry precut springs so ull have to do the cutting

If the gun use the old style spring with the 2 loops you might have to get creative.  You will have to bend the end of the spring to loop over the pins. This can be done from a straight spring.
