So with all the aggravating people posting here as of late, I have an idea for a new rule. After being guested once, if a person is to be guested again within 365 days of the last guesting, the person should be IP banned for at least 30 days. Any offense after that is a permanent ban. So, sound good? |

Yea, this forum is a lot less strict than other forums I post on. The forum of a certain organization I belong to (membership is $39 a month, they have 400,000 members) does not allow discussion of anything but the topic they deal with. Some, like me, will be trouble makers and post thing about the mods and such. The mods take this into account and usually just close the thread, but many times they ban people. Be nice to have this place kept in order better, but I guess thats not gonna happen any time soon. |

WGP, its T&O, people act stupid here, go to many of the other sections and its not near as bad when it comes to flaming and sarcasm and such...hell i'm not even sure what i did to earn the strike i have.

Suck it up. The forum isn't nearly as bad as it was during one or two earlier periods (See: the downfall of #tippmann). Apart from the rampant stupidity that has prospered here in the last year or so, it is nowhere near as bad as it could be. Don't you even attempt to bring about a new iron-sided rule where one could get ip banned for virtually nothing. The mods only IP ban if they seriously have to (and it's even pretty easy to get past that if you know what you're not an idiot) Don't make my forum experience a living hell beacuse of your newfound angst (which came about in a very true, and deserving strike) ------------- Most importantly - People suck. |

I think the mods usually do a pretty good job around here. We don't get too many trolls or troublemakers, and when they come around, they get smacked down. Usually people who get banned either start a new name and become decent forumers, or get fed up and leave. I don't see the need to implement automatic IP banning.
The nice part about this forum is that it's not very strictly moderated. If this forum only allowed paintball talk, or Tippmann products talk, this place wouldn't have most of the regulars who come here. Especially the regs in the T&O forum, people just come here and hang out about whatever. And as long as people keep the language reasonable, and don't get into flame fests or post links to porn or bomb blueprints, the mods don't throw their authority around too much. Whoever is responsible for picking moderators does a pretty good job, because most of the time, common sense prevails, and mods don't abuse their power, so again, I really just don't see the need for extra banning rules. |
