Who here wears contacts? I just got them, and man are they a pain in the ass. Just wanted to know how long it took most of you to get comfortable and efficient with putting them in and taking them out. Right now, i think i would have to do it like an hour before I went out-about 20 minutes to get the damn things in, then about 40 minutes for my eyes to look like I didn't smoke a pound of weed. But other than that, i feel like a free man without having to squiont most of the time, and wear glasses when i HAVE to see stuff.

I wear glasses and probably won't go with contacts. I just can't stand touching my eye.

I have them, you just can't close your eye when you put them in, then it will take forever. The kind I have I can never feel, there are times when I completely forgot they were in and I slept with them in, which the next day I had a few popped blood vessels in my eye. If you have a trial pair tell your doctor that you can never get comfortable with them and if there are any others that are more comfortable, that's how I got mine.

I can take them out and put them in really quickly. I've gotten so lazy that I just keep them in basically all the time even in my sleep. Once you have slept with them on a few times, you get used to it and tend to leave them on. I always have healthy eyes.

Wearing glasses since I was a wee lad, tried contacts but don't like poking my eyes. I don't mind glasses, I like the way they look on me.

I've been wearing contacts for 7 years now, and I love them. I didn't get glasses until about 4 years ago, just so I could wear them around the house in the morning when I was too lazy to put contacts in.
When you first get them, they're a pain. It took me probably a week or two to get used to it, and probably a month or two to get completely comfortable. When I first got them, I always woke up about an hour earlier than I had to, just to give myself time to get the contacts in comfortably. Just stick with it, you'll get the hang of it eventually.

Many people don't realize how sticking a contact on your eye is totally different than sticking your bare finger on your eye. The contact doesn't hurt. When I stick only my finger to my eye, it burns a little, but the contact doesn't hurt unless you get like an eye lash on it.

I have contacts but havn't worn them since sophomore year.
They are hard, so even after wearing them for 2 years they just weren't comfortable for me.
Tried putting them in for Prom this past year but they hurt so I just didn't wear them or glasses.

Yea, i got the first expirence of that one today. I took them out for a little because my doctor said don't where them constantly the first few days, so i went to put them in, and something was in their, which sucked hard because it still takes me a while to get it out lol

not as you would expect. it's almost like a suction cup, so it slides, but it takes a bit for it to come off, especially if your new at it. also most of the time when you blink which you tend to do when your poking your eye, it resets itself so it goes back on pretty good, until you get a little wrinkle in it, then it comes off pretty easy. it's just awkward at first.

With soft lenses, it is almost impossible to nock them out. They don't go out of place because the retna area is a different curve size so the contact hugs onto it very well.

Hurray for Laser Corrective Surgery...
I wore contacts and glasses for 10 years. I had corrective surgery about a month ago, though, and it is great being able to see again without having to put in contacts every morning.
Best $3000 I ever spent...

Yea, I am definitely getting that done, but you have to be 21, which sucks since I'm not even 16.

I got LASIK. Best money I have ever spent on anything. I went in not being able to see the end of my arm clearly (I had to have my contacts out for the previous three days) and on the way home I could read license plates on cars fifty feet away, even through the plastic eye covers you have to wear.
Now I have much better than 20/20 vision.
