So, decided to build another jet engine. This one is a low speed ramjet. Its powered off of propane, has an estimated 40 pounds of thrust with propane. Can also be powered of Jet-A and with that the thrust should be around 100 pounds. I've only done two test runs so far. A part on the inside used to compress the exhaust gasses, and then expand them was crushed and sent flying out the back about 30 feet. There isn't a nozzle on it yet so peak performance hasn't been reached yet. This is running at 50% throttle. Front end, compressor cone. EDIT: duct tape is because I had the wrong size fitting. Part doesn't get too hot so no worries.  Lit, the red hot piece is the fuel injector.  Exhaust  Lit  |

| It has to have air moving into it at speeds no less than 150 mph to work. I don't think I'll be getting my skateboard or car that fast. Of course I could make a gigantic compressor, but that would look stupid. |

I didn't. It was going to be about $2000, which is more than I spent on the car itself. I'll be getting a new vehicle (hopefully a truck) by the end of this year, so figured it wasn't worth it. |
