Hot water, and an eye dropper of bleach.  Shake it, let it sit for a while, pour it out, rinse thoroughly.

For the hose, you could probably siphon some of the bleach water through.

Well... they do sell fancy Camelbak-brand cleaning tablets... but a little secret: they're nothing more than Denture cleaning tabs.

I use store-brand el-cheapo anti-bacterial denture tabs. Fill bladder with warm water... drop a few tabs in, let sit for 15-20mins, dump, rinse, hang.

Prior to that, was just using dishsoap and rinsing well. But would take a LOT of rinsing to get all the soapy taste out.

Like you would clean any other animal, I imagine.

I would buy one of the camelbak dryer things that prop it open to dry, unless theres a better free way those seem to look pretty well.

But I just use baking soda and warm water.

I use soap and water. To keep it open when it dries, I use a cloths hanger that I bent up.

I got some of the cleaning tabs for super mega cheap. As in 10 dollars for 100. They work great.

It depends on how much storage you are looking for in the bag. Obviously if you want a lot of storage it is going to be pricey because you are basically paying the price of a day pack and hydration system.

This is after not cleaning it out for a month after having gatorade in there.  The sugar does that.

ive never seen them that expensive. i think rei.com sells them.

extemeoutfitters.us sells them. i bought mine in their store in person.

as for the mold problem. you guys realize they are made for water only. not gatorade? clean it heavily if you use it for anyhting other than water.

I wouldn't get just the water pack, it would have to be the backpack if i got one. I quad ride on a sport quad so storage space is limited; i would like to be able to carry at least a few ratchet straps, some tools, and a place for goggles, otherwise i assume just carry wear a backpack and stick a few water bottles in there.

Dye Playa. If you have a backpack you and use just a bladder. All you do it place it in it, some of them have those laptop pouches, and you either A) cut a hole for the tube line, or B) dont zipper it all the way and hav ehte tube line come out that way.

I agree. I bought mine for snowskiing, it is a 2.5 liter(i will hold up to 3) for 35 bucks,  and then this year when i bought a backback that will hold some stuff+plus carry my skiis when i hike, and it has a pocket and slot in the strap for the bladder and hose. I've just been cleaning it with dish soap, i will try some of the other ideas, and when i dry it, i hang it up where the hose can drip dry, and i stuff the bladder full of paper towels.

Hmm, might have to look into that. I found one made for snowboarding, which is pretty cool and I am considering dropping the 50 bucks on it. It hold 2 liters, and has room for goggles, extra clothes, tools, and food, and the bladder is made so the contents won't freeze. It also has clips on the outside so i can attach my board to it to carry it around and free up my hands when walking around the resort. But that would be perfect for quading also because extra clothes is always good, a spot for goggles is necessary, and if you leave some stuff out ropes and stuff could aways be packed in. I do a lot of rides that are like 60+ miles so it would come in handy and the non freezing bladder would definitely be a plus since we ride mostly in the winter.
