Some may remember me from a long time ago (are DaveEllis and Oldsoldier still around?), but I had to quit paintball and sell all my gear due to financial problems, and then joining the Navy, ect. Now that I'm at my duty station, things have slowed down considerably, and I find myself often bored on the weekends. So, I have decided to rekindle my love for the game and get back to where I started; with Tippmann. I did the whole speedball thing and played with a few Amateur teams, but now I'm leaning more towards the woodsball/scenario play. I did some calculating, and ballpark my expenses at around $750.00 for everything (not including tax). Granted I didn't go bargain hunting like I should, but I just got some basic prices on everything I want. Here's my list:
X-7 - $300.00
Foldable Stock - $60.00
Pack (6 Pods +1) - $32.00
Pure Energy 88 CI 4500 PSI Low Pressure - $214.00
Spectra Flex 7 - $60.00
Pods - $15.00
Remote Coil - $40.00
I added an extra few bucks on there for stuff like barrel cover, nipple cover, ect.
It's been awhile since I've played, so let me know if I left anything important out. Thanks in advance.

Just check about that Low pressure output tank, and make sure it'll work on the X7, because if I'm not mistaken, X7 use highpressure input right?
Anyways, you may just need to switch to a high pressure output tank and you are good to go.

Welcome back man. Looks like you basically did the same thing as me, I just came back earlier this year from a break after getting tired of speedball/tourny type stuff. I also decided to stick to the woods, it's just much more fun in my opinion. It doesn't look like you left anything out in that list but if you're looking to play scenarios you may want to look into a good vest. If you carry smoke/paint grenades or other small stuff in addition to the pods and your tank then a vest is really nice to have, beats the crap out of digging through the pockets in your pants.

Bit of an update:
I found a great package on eBay. An X-7 with E-Grip and Flatline, remote coil, 20oz Co2, mask, pod back with Co2 holder, 6 pods, and a few other ammenities for 512 bucks.
I plan on getting compressed air later, just saw this as a great opportunity and pounced on it. Hopefully it works out for the best. I plan on getting the foldable stock today at my local paintball store.

Also need help on finding the right marker. My son is 13 and just started with the kids at school. Is there a preferred marker that my son can "grow with". Thanks

Dpitt please don't hijack other peoples thread.
However here are some good choices for a new marker:
WGP Autocockers
ICD Freestyles
ICD Promasters
Invert Mini
------------- 2005 Freestyle
Naughty Dawg Freestyle
Angel LCD
SP-8

Or you could go with a 98 custom if you wanted to go with tippmann. They're inexpensive and you can upgrade them a lot. The only thing that you can't really change about them is size. If he's really into speedball and tournaments then he might like one of the guns Commander_Cool suggested since they are marketed towards that kind of play. They're designed to be small and fast which is what a speedball player looks for. If he plays speedball but also likes woodsball (especially milsim) then a tippmann gun may be a better fit. I'd take him to a paintball store and let him hold some guns to see which ones he likes.

paint... Unless your totally into the Scenario thing, look up a 05' Superstock their only $160 and they totally rip. All you need to do is Add a simple barrel, like a J&J Ceramic, or Lapco Bigshot and that thing wil totally rip out of the box. Not a Bad marker at all for under $200.
