Local highway, just built, rarely patrolled. Anyway.

I'm driving along in the Camry (White '07 SE, its hot) on said highway. I come up to two vehicles side by side doing about 40 in a 65. So I know somethings up.  I get up behind them, then I see what they are. A Evo VIII and a WRX (I dont think it was an STI though). Anyway the horns go and they take off. Me being the idiot I am tried to keep up. I stayed pretty close until we hit about 100, then I backed it down. They kept going. The Evo creamed the WRX though. All in all it was alot of fun.

BTW I wouldn't have ran with them if there was anybody else on the road. Not worth endangering lives for fun.

Doesn't surprise me. There's a huge Evo/WRX rivalry out there, it's funny.

i saw about five cars that were all pulled over on a highway, it was weird because they were all exactly the same, black with green neon lights, i forget what the car was though.

I want to find a clunker on the side of the road. I really want to rebuild something. Still thinking about the van, but it's my daily driver...

Many of those old cars are RWD and have a decent sized V8.

What kind of truck?

I'm still surprised my Autotragic Camry was able to keep up with them.

I am pretty sure i would whip it,the monte is a 98, its NOT an SS so FWD v6 vs my RWD V8, my truck gets up pretty quick, the monte is not bad either but in the long run i would pull away easy i think.

Keep in mind horsepower and torque are not the only deciding factors in a race.

My truck has tons of low end, i think i would get the launch, today after school making a left hand turn from a traffic light i had to constantly go on and off the throttle, all that torque and the wet pavement my wheels broke free so easy, winter should be interesting...

Have fun with that, I know I can't hardly get anywhere in the winter in my 88' S10 with the 2.8. Pretty sure it is quite easy to pick up the back end. You give it gas and it swerves around.

QFT.  Mine is pushing just shy of 350, and prior to my wreck, would slide around horribly in even the lightest moisture on the road.  I am extremely glad it wasn't totaled though.

My truck is like that on wet pavement, slightest throttle from a stop and their spinning, and if i get threw the turn without spinning them i end up fish tailing out of the turn.

Back in my high school days I raced my corolla against a my buddy in his chevy lumina.  It was pretty much the funniest, slowest, and most pathetic race I have ever seen.  I was laughing so hard I didn't clutch all the way and ground gears going into 3rd.

Not really, its made for towing, has tons of low end power, takes nothing at all to let the wheels loose, i stopped the burnout but when i felt it wanting to fishtail i got on it a little.

When I was in high school I would street race occasionally. Now I just go to the track. the odd thing about it is that I've had more close calls at the track than I have on the streets.

I've had my share of races, but I generally try to avoid "street" racing unless there truly is nobody around. I've beat an Is300 with cai/exhaust, new Civic Si, preludes, old civics, and messed around with srt4s. I have a videos, but uh, generally illegal stuff is frowned upon here. All of these races were done out in the middle of nowhere, with just miles of straight aways.

So yeah, street racing is bad.

Way to assume I own a "120HP Fart Cannon."

My 350HP V8 Camaro weighs half as much as your hard ass truck, and just because you think beating some crappy rice burner at the stoplight makes you a professional street racer, does not mean your truck is fast.  People like you are just as bad as the "Fast and the Furius Wannabes" you all pretend to hate so much.

Please stop, the kids at school always say "hard ass" thinking its the same as bad ass, but its not so just don't.

Yeah, because it is....

A hard ass is someone who is strict.

Are you seriously larguing the difference between a bad ass and a hard ass?(I am)

technically neither mean anything. It is a perceived meaning to different individuals.

Therefore, I win. Me and many people view Hard ass the same as Bad ass.

Hard ass would also mean strict, depends on how it is used.

Have a nice day.

People like you with pickup trucks bother me.  It's not that fast, and if you're fish tailing it, you just suck at driving.
I used to pwn Ricer Civics and the like with my Avalanche. Don't pull up next to me in your 120HP Fart Canon and try to act fast.

Woah. I wasn't saying YOU had a fart mobile.  I was saying that trucks are better than said fart mobile. Nor do I think my truck is super fast or that I'm a street racer.

.....Apples and Bananas are completely different. Who uses that as an analogy anyway? It's clearly apples and oranges.

Sand bags !If i don't get the 4x4 by this winter, only god knows how many sand bags i will need, i might just use bags of rocks instead.

Make yourself an H frame for 2x6's to fit around your wheel wells. Put 10 bags of quickcrete inside. You'll have 800lb's for added traction that you can reuse for several years that could care less about UV's unlike the plastic that the sand tubes use. You'll also get an improvement in gas mileage from the improved traction.

The second part was really in reference to "Horsepower." Who, by his mere name appears to be a poser who thinks that because he can spin out the tires on his truck, means he is a freaking NASCAR driver that's been unleashed in the high school parking lot.

I drive what's known as a "sleeper."
It's a Grandpa car (Grand Marquis), but some people don't realize it has a 4.6l V8 in it (same engine as a police car). Its weight means it doesn't take off very fast, but once it's rolling it's pretty damn quick. And it feels like you're floating in air when you're cruising at 120.

Nah, Bunkered that's not a sleeper....well perhaps it is, but...

A truck like mine does catch people off guard. Nothing obvious. Just a Cummins powered 4x4 on stock wheels wrapped in AT's, non-descript factory paint. Heck, just a 5sp manual and 3.54 gears, not quick of the line at all. Over 240k miles. For 7800lbs fairly economical at 22-23mpg. AND a new generation controller that helps me get that mileage...in the economy program. But with the flip of a switch I go too my agressive tune and someone who doesn't know how to play nice gets smoked.

With any financial luck, this time next year it will be sporting a new turbo for 40+ boost without drive pressures throught the roof (and EGT's), better injectors, 4" pipes, pulse exhaust manafold, an maybe even a new intercooler.

And still be in the same stock appearence. That will make a sleeper.

Actually, it's just a tow beast. But a rolling beast without a heavy load can be a lot of fun and a major embarisment to the unwary.

OK, maybe it's not amazing, but it'll blow most of the kids who think their little POS 4-banger is quick out of the water. And it doesn't look cool to get beat by a granny-mobile.

I would like to have a Crown Vic if I was able to have multipul vehicles.

Speaking of crappy 4-bangers, I saw a kid in a 15+ year old Corolla, with no bumpers or paint, but a fart cannon you can here a mile away, get busted after passing me IN A SCHOOL ZONE (Middle School, official school zone speeds applicable, 20mhp) doing roughly 80mph. I was never happier to see somebody get busted in my life.

Hahaha. Seeing people pulled over for stupid crap like that is hilarious, especially if you get to speed because the cop is already busy.
I used to go offroading in my old '94 Plymouth Colt. That's how much of a <crap>-box that little car was it only cost like $700, and I drove it for around 2 years. Bottomed out all over the place, and climbed hills that car never should have seen the bottom of. I couldn't beleive some lady bought that the first day it was up for sale.
But I'd get up next to Corvettes and nice newer cars and rev my engine at them, then pretend to want to race. It was hilarious to see the looks on people's faces.

My new car just doesn't look suspicious. There are so many tan Grand Marquis driving around in Michigan that unless someone gets my license plate I can easily just disappear.
I was doing 100 down I-75 one day because there had been traffic and we were way behind schedule. Well, me and the other guy in my car happened to notice that the State Trooper on the opposite entrance ramp had just kicked up all kinds of gravel as it hauled into the opposeite lane....
So we just sped up and got off onto I-69, then got off at an exit. We even passed a cop, and he didn't pull us over... If we were in a less common car we'd have been screwed.
