I added a Python compression kit that's Cocker gun to Ion barrel and have my Ion Apex barrel attached. It's ready to go.

Haven't got to use the Python or gun yet. The first time will be the Tippmann Challenge. Here's my speculation. If you split the difference in opinions on whether bore/ball matching is important the 2" of control bore should be sufficient to stabilize the ball. I have confidence that this is the case. What I am 100% certain of is that it will be more efficient than any barrel kit I've seen due to the fact that the control bore is only 2" which will take less air to push the ball thru the control bore which could also lead to lower dwell times which could lead to higher rof for some guns. An example of a gun that the dwell time wouldn't effect max rof is a stock Ion. It's capped at 17 bps and is easily obtainable in complete stock form. The only bonus there would be efficiency.

Looks great but how about another angle? You should definitely try out the new setup for an event though. Regardless, whenever you do, let us know how the Python fairs. I've been curious about it for awhile now. -------------

I'm not really concerned with it. To be honest I'm kind of expecting the gun to disappoint me somehow and will end up using my ripper anyways. I hope it doesn't but..... My intention with this gun is to explore the accuracy by ditching the Apex in favor of step bore experimentation with Python/Edge kit and the distance of shots. I know there's alot of people that feel that 289 fps is 289 fps but I'm still a firm believer that some guns shoot further than others and have seen Cockers and other guns that just shoot further than my Impulse. No comparison. ROF advantage will never tilt to the Cocker though. Here's a different angle

My Impulse. I often get asked on ebay if a professional photographer takes my pics. The lighting where I took the pics is very poor. I'm not going to drag out the 1000 watt lights and set up a studio for gun pics. Selling BMW's and sleds yes. |
