Just purchased the A-5 flat line barrel. Why did I wait so long in buying it? I love it with the exception of the loadness. Do you guys know of any ways to quite it down?

I hear if you get one of those tactical shrouds that has holes it helps a little. Silencer gets you in big trouble.

It's always going to be loud.

There is nothing legal that you can go to an a5 that will make it quiet enough to bother.

Leave it; if you learn to use it correctly, your opponents will learn to fear the sound of your marker.

The other shroud (mentioned above) does not significantly reduce the report of the marker.  It doesn't make it any lighter either.  It merely looks cooler and catches on small branches when moving through thick cover.

I took the shroud off and wrap some clothe around the barrel and put the shroud back on.

It helps alot with the metal tining sound

I was just wondering. I didn't think silencers would be illegel if it where for paintball. And really, silencers are not really silent just quiter.

But I have learned that once people hear my marker going off, they try to avoid the area.

As for the weight, I carried a M-60 with the 4th Inf. This marker with the flat line, is a feather. :)

Silencers are illegal. Even for paintball. Paintball silencers can be modified and put on real guns.

Spec ops has some guide on how to get a legal silencer for paintball. It
involves more red tape than a tape factory and a $200 tax.
