I get called a Yankee then I go in a corner and cry.

EDIT but hey at least I will get to do things I can't do here in the suburbs of Chicago. Like shoot guns and ride ATVs ect.

I remember watching 'Wife Swap' or something like that, where they had a family from one of the southern states.  I know it was a reality show, but I was still blown away by the lifestyle of some of the deep southerners.

So.... The most stereo typical thing just happened.  My uncle just went down to the hunting store to pick up shot gun shells for us to shoot around with.

It's funny because here in Michigan we like our guns and ATVs without being damn hillbillies. All my family in the Alabama/Tenessee are awesome, but they definately have odd ways of doing things.

Yea I see way more "sportsmen" when I visit my grandparents in Michigan than I do down here in Alabama, and what do you mean by weird ways of dealing with things?

Well, they live in Cullman County, which is a dry county... Automatically that's wierd to me.
But they seem to think nothing of 16-17 year old kids just carrying around shotguns and whatnot. It's not like that up here at all, even though gun ownership is pretty high up here.
Our hunting laws are also way stricter agewise.
And... "Y'all want some sweet tea?" along with calling all pop/soda "Coke" messes with my head.

Haha I live right near them in Birmingham and all of that sounds perfectly normal to me.

I hate the strict gun laws up here, but a lot of people up here are dumbasses with them, so they don't need to be in most 16-18 year old people's hands.
That and I can't think of a dry county in Michigan. My uncle lost the election for Sheriff of Cullman County recently, but it made me angry because my grandparents wouldn't vote for him... Because he's a Republican.
My grandparents are the most conservative, people I've ever met, but they seem to think that the democrats are more in line with their ideals (mainly because they've voted democratic since they first were legal age to vote). I'm like

Yea Cullman County is one of the more racist places in the state, and unlike Y'all in Michigan we get to blow are hands off with any type of fireworks we want.

I know this because my uncle usually has all kinds of confiscated fireworks, and they're way sweeter than my friend's dad who gets the confiscated ones around here (Fire Chief).

I'm stopping off at a huge fireworks store to buy my uncle some "gifts".

My mom decided to get a 7 inch touch screen pioneer stereo in our Jeep Commander and it is sweeeeet.
