Subject: Any superpowers?
Date Posted: 06 October 2007 at 1:06am

I picked up on this train of thought while reading the TMMB.

Any of you guys have any wierd talents/mild superpowers?

Mine would be the extraordinary ability to predict wheteher or not people are aproaching. I'm best with police and aproaching freight trains (as odd as it sounds).

Just glancing at main street for a few seconds will tell me whther or not a train or cop is aproaching. I'm usually right on top of the time. I can guess, usually, within 5 to 10 minutes for a train, and about 2 to 3 for an aproaching patrol.

I don't know how I do it. I think it has something to do with traffic patterns, or something.

Yeah, I've done that a few times in the last week. Timing is one of my things. But, above all else, it's patterns in general. Especially patterns of movement.

I can be following along behind someone on the road and after a few seconds of watching them move (somewhere between 5 to 30 seconds) I can tell you most of their habits. Especially their turn signal habits, speed fluctuations and selected turning radiuses. That kind of thing...

I think I have too much time on my hands.

Invulnerability. Er, dumb luck I guess. By all rights, I should be dead. I've been trapped under a boulder, chased by a large waterspout, stepped on a live extension cord (of which I connected two wires, evidently, sending sparks and a lot of voltage my way. If I wasn't wearing boots, I'd probably be dead), fell down some stairs while holding a loaded firearm, among other things. Feel free to ask about any of those events, and I'll go into further detail.

Maybe there is a God watching my sorry behind...

I have this strange ability to hide behind 2" diameter trees and not get hit by someone firing at me..... Oh, and I can pull pans out of a 275*F oven with my bare hands, of course that probably has to do with working in kitchens for so long.

LoL Trippy Topic.

Lets see here

I do for some reason also tend to look at the clock at 9:11. Not twice aday, but enough to notice that I do it.

I'm also good at analizing people and can tell what most of the girls that I know are thinking about.

I can read people really well.
Also, I am excellent with patterns.
An odd thing I can do amazingly well, I can walk into a room around christmas time, looks at the tree, and within 15 seconds I can show you every single missing christmas light on the tree.

Lawlz, I do the same thing every freakin day. I think it's because I saw a nut theory right after 9-11 saying the one of the planes hit at exactly 9:11. Ever since then, I just take notice. Weird that other people do the same thing.

Otherwise, as someone else has already pointed out, the only ability I have that's sometimes kind of odd is the ability to read people. I can pretty much tell you anything about a person by just reading their facial expressions in a five minute conversation.

For time, I always catch 12:34 and 10:01.

I also have insane dodging powers for things I see coming at my head at the last moment. I'll throw my head to the side and usually feel the object lightly graze my neck or hair as it passes.

Also, am I missing why it is so special to look at the clock when it is 9:11?

I'm very good at analyzing people.  I also have an inexplicable sense of time.  Even if I haven't looked at a clock since morning, I can usually tell a time within 15 minutes of being right.

I do a lot of things, but time is the freaky one. I always look at the clock at 1:11 , 3:33 12:12 11:11 and that kind of stuff, And people used to always call me a physic because when a person would be talking, and couldn't exactly find the words to finish it i would finish it for them and they would say those were the exact words they were about to say.I still do it all the time to people.

I have made spaghetti so much in the past years that I can be sitting down watchign TV and the natural clock inside my head will tell me subconsciously I need to go cheack the timer, and as I get up and get to the kitchen, the timer goes off.

the hour and minute is irrelevant, at least to me.  just the fact that i always look at a clock at a certain time everyday w/o thinking about it.  the 9:11 is just the time that happens.

Brihard: Okay, I must warn this tale is going to be full of no-no's and redneckery, as I do live in the country now.

So, recently, my cousin and his friend came over to where I lived at my grandma's place, armed to the teeth (shotguns, rifles and pistols) asking me if I wanted to "shoot some guns." Naturally, I couldn't turn that down. After some plinking into the pond for a bit, I remember my uncle has a few rifles stashed around the place, one of 'em being an AK-22, an Italian replica of an AK-47 that shoots .22LR. So I grab that, shove 30 rounds into the magazine, and head out. My grandma's cabin is elevated, so I rested the muzzle on the railing of the porch to get some good angles on turtles that were foolish enough to stick their head above the water (open sites + decent distance + .22 + very small target = a lot of missing...). I take a few shots then proceed to attempt to walk down the stairs of the porch to join the others. Not a staircase, but there are five decently tall stairs there, so it isn't flat either. Of course it rained earlier that day, and the wood of the stairs was rather slippery. So I give a dramatic speech directed to my cousin and his friend saying something along the lines of, "If any of you do something stupid and I get killed, I'm going to haunt you for ever." But I didn't quite make it that far. I got to "I'm going..." then my foot slipped on the top stair, sending me flying, AK in hand. Fortunately, I'm not entirely an idiot, and had put the saftey on when I was done shooting, and had I not done that, I'm sure there would have been some bullets in the air. Needless to say, there were some good laughs while I nursed a sore behind. My power is to be able to survive sheer stupidity.

Disclaimer: While that story may sound like "OMG, what ignorant rednecks," we aren't actually that dumb. All firing lanes were controlled, all firarms were either breech-open or unloaded until fired, and all shooters were aware of each other's position. We just didn't live anywhere near a firing range, so we made use of the country. I happened to be a victim of circumstance. Had a loaded gun, put my foot in a bad place and confirmed that gravity still worked.

Yeah same here. Its just something that happens to me like 4 times a week. I always look at the clock at 4:20 as well, but that is for a reason.

The people saying that they notice the clock at a certain time of the day... The brain registers a higher meaning with anything that makes an extra "connection" in the brain with some type of coincidence to your subconcious. Whether it be a "1...2...3..." pattern, a significant date in all our lives(whether you want to admit it or not), etc.  So that, you disregard the other times you look at the time, and so you begin to believe it's a daily routine.

The next time you look at a clock/watch/etc.  take note if it is an "unimportant" time.  Normally you would just go on with your life.

This is kind of like what Gatyr said.  I can tell when there is a pressure change in a room (from something like a door opening, air conditioning turning on/off) without seeing/hearing anything.

I also have a very good sense of direction.  Someone could blindfold me, and drive me somewhere in a car.  Even without recognizing surroundings, I can tell you which way is north/south/east/west to an accuracy of about 45 degrees.

I have awesome photographic memory if I see something once I can draw it. Once I draw it I can remember it any time I want to. It's how all my notes where in School all doodles in a pattern that made it easy to remember.

I can also trace back to any road I driven too even years before.

I have the strangest feelings of Deja Vu all the time. That means I'm psychic.

I do mean like all the time. I remember an exact position of people, and an exact conversation until the "Whoa Deja Vu".

There have even been instances where  it will be someone I have never met before, and I remember it but didn't know who the person was the first time.

Like whoever said it, I also pick up the phone like 1-2 seconds before it rings alot.

I have come to the conclusion that my brain picks up cell phone signals and makes me pick it up. I'm amazing, huh?

I get that quite often too.  Its very annoying, because with most instances I get a feeling that something bad is going to happen, but normally nothing does.
