This time, I've got COMPLETELY different markers on my mind. A Duckslide Phantom, a pneumatic mag, or upgrading my Black Magic. I'll do this in a bulleted list form. Who knows, maybe in typing this I'll make up my mind.
Duckslide Phantom Advantages - Looks awesome - Pump gun - Custom built to my specifications - Butter smooth pump stroke
Disadvantages - Gonna run me a grand total of $550 - Take a while to make - Gonna run me a grand total of $550 - Don't even know if it's gonna be my main - See points 1 and 3.
Pneumag Advantages - Mag reliability and simplicity - New aftermarket pneumatic frame has been produced - Give me a reason to custom build a mag - Amazing trigger pull at a fully walkable .5mm - NO BATTERIES! WOO!!!
Disadvantages - Gonna cost me about as much as the Phantom - Err... That's all I can really think of...
Upgrading the Black Magic Advantages - It's a mid-blocked, lightweight electro 'cocker. <3 - Allows me to indulge the tinkerer within. Not like I don't do that anyway... - It could use a few ups
Disadvantages - By the time I'm done, it's still probably gonna cost me about as much as the Phantom - I'll be keeping the BM, so I could just as easily call this a backburner project, because it is working right now...
Hm. Well, the list seems to be in favor of the Pneumag, but I still am not sure...

The Phantom is the obvious choice.

The Mag can cost less that $550, especially if you do the Pnuemag yourself, and get used parts. Usually used Mag parts are in good condition too.

Didn't expect that coming from you...
Well, G-Force (who isn't dead yet ) has announced a new line of pneumatic frames for various markers. The Pneumag frame is already in production, for limited amounts, and will cost $200. Good news for the other guys, plans for Spyders, Tippmanns and 'cockers (!!!) are also in the works. No notes on production for them yet.

Dude, how long have you e-known me? Srsly...
EDIT: Okay, CCM is making a new pump kit that I'm sexually attracted to, so I think I may have to go the Sniper route...

Carbon Fiber. Luscious, light, beautiful carbon fiber. I have no idea why I like the stuff so much.
Ugh. Mongo said he'd put a 1-piece aside for me, and for some reason that makes me want to get a Duckslide even more...
I hate life.

why hate life, when it has lead you to the best answer so easily? Woah.... i like the sounds of that as well

But is life leading me to a Duckslide, a Sniper or a pneumag? All of the afformentioned markers include a neat "rare" part, and I can't figure out which playing style is better...

Z's seem too tight for me. I couldn't adjust to having it so tucked in all the time. If I miss out on the pneuframe for some reason, I'm gonna look for a Y though. Maybe an X-Valve. No ULT though, as that limits the face-raping R/T the valve is capable of.

Well mind you, I'm more of a speedball/tourney player than almost anyone on here other than Gatyr and USAF. I mean, for pete's sake, I still use a drop with the 'geddon and fire the 'cocker with my middle finger. I don't see how people can use a damned hinge-frame.

True, but due to my height, weight and overall slowness, I'm normally a backplayer unless I feel I can make a move, so decent length in a marker is better for me. Now, I am intrigued by the Y frames.
PS: I = recballer, so I'll take a little of anything.

You know, more people need to come on here with marker problems. I just noticed that I've got the last-say on about half the threads in the bottom 3 forums..... Sheesh.
So, what do you think you're going to run with? Anything I ever suggest you just wind up selling.

That's in my blood. I honestly don't think I can hold onto an Osiris if I had one. I just have this need to try something out that I've never used before, and my list grows bigger every year. But so far the only marker I've truly felt comfortable with is a 'cocker and my old 98c. I traded a ULE Warpfed E-Mag for a simple Raced FF, which I'm selling. I think I hit Nirvana with the Black Magic though. Strangely, I feel no need to sell it...
But between the four I listed, I still don't know. I don't want to, but I'll probably wind up selling it later on. I hate me.

LOL, face it man! You are destined to become an engineer and fiddle with paintball markers for the rest of your life.
Honestly though, I think the best job I ever had was when I was teching in college. It's a good thing I had to move back to WV after college, otherwise I would have been content to make $12/hr working on stuff at the shop. Heh, it's funny. I probably took half of what I earned over the years in store credit for paintball gear. I mean, that IAO BM LE that I built was over $2K all told including the hopper and Tank at the time. Now, I'd probably get $200 for it at best on e-bay, mcb, or pbn since there body is so rare and wasn't advertised so no-one knows about it.
I will say, that thing still rips. Single-trigger slider frame and all. I took it out to the field for the first time in years last year and was parted out from the rest of the walk-ons to go play with the "advanced" players that had DMs, Egos, etc. Some guys actually laughed at me for having a mech an being in the group. First game out I shot out half of the opposing team myself. Quality beats out new-fangled-tech any day.

That sounds disturbingly appealing. Problem is, I just can't justify doing that. I am going for an architectural degree right now. Fortunately, I'm just doing the academics at a junior college right now so when I go to university, I can focus on my major. I still have time to choose.

slow people need to get either phanomts so they can move faster and tuck in as much as possible, or a reall fast gun so they can walk the trigger faster than they can walk. when you finaly tinker with a gun and make it absolutly perfect, im sure you will become a millionair and buy all the guns you can desire and make more guns and make more money and give me 10% because i motivated you to do so.(if your a billionair its 20%)

Well, you have some wierd ideas sometimes...
I like Snipers too. Ive thought about getting one, playing pump. But, only 1 other person I know actually plays, so that died.
Oh, and Carbon Fiber=Amazing. Im with you on that one.

Regrettably, I never was able to get it to work, and soon realized that the money needed wouldn't justify the project. The E-Bolt board was fried, and the BSI ram couldn't be 2-way'd. I found someone selling Psycho Ballistics E-Bolts for $135, BNIB. Coincidently, he's also selling M98 receivers for $25. Now, I just have to figure out how to double-trigger the M98 and get a guard on there, and I'll be coo'. I like the look of the M98 better than the 98c, because I like the gills. I would like to work with that. I have all the internals from my old project, but I think I borked up the 98c receivers beyond repair.

Bringing a dead thread up for purely selfish reasons:
Can I get a line on the ebolts? I've been wanting to try to ebolt my m98 for a couple of years, but never bothered to run down one.
Oh and on the original topic: duckslide. You'll always be able to find a pneumag body, but Mongo might get hit by a reindeer pulled sleigh in late December, or something.
