I dont really like the sights and that the stock is set out extremely long, but looks like most upgrades were chosen well. -------------

| yeah, but you can change the stock length by pressing in on the bottom lever and sliding it. :) - I also want to get a real red dot sight. thats my next goal |

You can get them at wal-mart for 30 bucks i think. most people use them for show, but some times you can use them tho. -------------

Is where it leaks from, i put the sealant tape stuff on it, like 5 layers, and it still leaks out, but it dosn't blow tons out now, it just hisses slowly out.---I also changed the o-rings, and oiled them. Took the gun apart, oiled everything, changed all o-rings . Put it back together right. and yeah. still leaks. so idk. Thanks ! |

The 5 layers of teflon tape will make it still leak. Too much is worse than too-little. Teflon tape isn't a sealant, but rather a lubricant for the threads of the fittings to go together better. At most you need 2 full revolutions around the threads. As I said in the other post, some blue loc-tite will work well if you have the time to let it sit. Otherwise, torque is all you need to get it to seal, just make sure you don't strip the head of the steel braid when tightening. ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

um.. teflon tape IS a sealant... just if you use too much.. you cant thread w/e it is your threading in far enough... and loctite is NOT a sealant, however it does work that way sometimes... its a thread locking compound to prevent them from backing out its likely the tombstone isnt creating a good seal with the valve oring, or even maybe that oring is damaged. ------------- Xbl:PhantomReign97

Teflon tape can ACT as a sealant, just as loctite can. Neither were actually produced to be so. Dupont originally started producing teflon tape back in the 1950's as a thread lubricant. NPT fittings don't actually require any kind of sealant due to their construction. They are fluid tight without any necessary application of a tertiary substance. The teflon tape was simply there to make torquing the fitting to a proper rating easier on the plumber.

You can use a red dot with a flatline barrel as long as you understand that it will only be accurate at the range it is sited in at and that it will not site in effectively at the longer ranges. My recommendation in this instance is to select a medium range (15 - 30 yards) for siting in. At the shorter ranges you should be able to point and shoot and the cone of fire at the longer ranges will require accuracy by volume anyways. Note on above suggested range of ranges: Experiment and see what works best for you as not all marker and flatline set-ups are identical. I know folks who have tried this and found they couldn't site in at the 25 to 30 yard ranges. Also experiment with different velocities to see what works best. (I recommend starting at 255 fps and working up in very small increments.) -------------
