My A-5 is by no means a "showcase" marker, as I've hauled this thing up and down rocky canyons, through brush, water, mud, and who knows what else. It bares the scars to prove it, and I'd rather it have this character and reliability than be "pretty". That being said, let me know what you think.

You can find both the barrel and the stock here:

Cool, I think this is the first time I've ever seen a barrell that small before.

My buddy Jihad has one very similar to that and I used it in the MXS 26 hour game and loved it more than the beast of a M16 M203 I built. Small and light is the way to go for sure! Now I am rethinking bigger milsim markers....all I have to say is bullpup for me!!! I think I will invest in the Identity Crisis kit!
*edit* marker looks great and I know it handles well!

Neat looking gun. It's got a real compact and pointable look to it. Does accuracy suffer much with the short barrel?

The accuracy is as good or better as the stock A-5 barrel, which of course isn't stellar, but c'mon...this one is 3 inches long. The real advantage is exactly what you brought up: it's point and click. Even with the stock in the closed position, the natural point of aim is dead on.

You should get the opsgear barrel tip that amplifies the sound from the marker.

It really doesn't need the help, though I am curious as to how it would sound. The last game I played, one of my friends who KNOWS how loud my marker is STILL took cover when I opened up from about 50 feet behind him. He thought someone from the opposing team had snuck up on him.

I like it but IMO the barrel needs to just a little bit longer.

I hope you were being sarcastic I meant IMO it would look better with a slightly longer barrel.

I've tried both and rejected both for a couple of reasons. The X7 hopper extends way to far in front of the barrel, which makes the marker look unbalanced. The 50-rounder looks pretty good, but now we're sacrificing ammo capacity. I use my A-5 to play, not to win fashion shows at the cost of effectiveness.

Hey Secret Squirrel I really like the look of your marker. I just had one question for you, and it's about the barrel. I was just wondering if you loose some accuracy with the shorter barrel? If i sound ignorant I'm sorry, i'm very new at the sport so please forgive me. Thank you for your time.

Honestly, I do think the marker would be slightly more accurate with a longer barrel. For my style of play, however, having a compact marker I can sling behind my back so I can use my hands is a must. Also, the short barrel makes my A-5 extremely loud, which again compliments my style of play. It's all about what works for you.

if your marker is for play, not fashion as you boast, why the mag and the red dot site?
other than that little bit of hypocracy, nice marker.

| Mag and red dot aren't really sacrificing performance in the same way a smaller loader would.

The mag I legitimately use as a hand support (the gas line and foregrip just weren't cutting it), but I'll plead guilty concerning the red-dot sight. It just complimented the look of the marker. But I never recall saying that everything on the marker was strictly functional!
