That's like asking me Scotch or Bourbon. I mean, what do you want to get out of your marker? Performance? Upgradability? Mil-Sim looks? Just saying which one is pretty much worthless man. Heck, I could give you at least 5 more markers in the same price range that I like better than either of them, but without knowing what it is you are looking for, we can't help you.

K so I'm looking into getting an X-7 why?? I like the cyclone feedsystem...(i dont know how good it is): does it chop balls still??

I'm looking for a milslim look (X-7 looks freaking awesome anyway you mod it)

And I'm looking for accuracy!!

So with these 3 questions...what's your experience with the X-7 guys?

Help me out here. Thankz

Well I have an A5 and it never chops on me.  The X7 is nice but it does limit some of the barrels you can use with the shroud and it is harder to put on regulators/stabilizers. The Egrip is easier to use but the A5 is pretty nice if you just sit down and actually read the directions on it.  If you get the A5 you can upgrade the internals of the cyclone, add new barrel, and a few other mods if you want to with the money saved.

As far as accuracy goes my a5 is pretty good.  It is def a loud gun though (even with the quiet J&J)

No chops unless there is something wrong with the system (broken ratchet, etc) However, like the a-5, if the x-7's cyclone goes down, or you start running low on air, you have to physically charge the cyclone every shot. Hence, while it is a nice feed system and eliminates the need for batteries, I still prefer an electronically agitated hopper.

For ease of modification for the mil-sim look, there isn't much that will beat an x-7

Stock barrels on tippmann suck as a rule. If you go with the X-7, I'd suggest getting either a J&J Ceramic or LAPCO Bigshot barrel to improve accuracy.

I'm not a huge fan of either the A-5 or the X-7. The last tippmann marker produced that I really like is the '98C but that's just me. A lot of the guys on here really enjoy their A-5's and X-7's. Evil Elvis swears by his e-gripped X-7, and I can attest that it performs quite well. I just don't like the feel of them personally.

Anyway, in short. If you're looking for the mil-sim aspect, and don't mind the inability to change out the hopper, the x-7 is a great marker.
