yea so they're outdated, i know. but going through some of my grandpas old stuff since he's passed, i found one. pics to come later. its got a switch on it to turn it into a loud speaker... i dont have a car to put it in, but could i hook it up to a 12v battery and operate it? would i need to attatch some sort of antenna to it to make it functional? could i hook it into a cd stereo and use that for the loud speaker?

i dont know too much about them, any help/advice is appreciated

I have one in my truck, it gets really fun messing with people.

As for your question, you will need an antenna for the cb part of the radio
but not for the PA portion. As for hooking it up to a battery I am sure you
could but really I would put it in your car or get a home setup kit off of the
internet.

if i were to hook it up to a car, i'd do it to the battery in the car? what kind of drain does that cause?

You can probably pick up a wiring kit at your local radioshack, best buy, walmart, etc. It won't put a terrible drain on the car. Nothing your standard battery/alternator can't handle. I have one in my truck. No PA function but it's fun on the interstate.

Very little, just make sure you don't wire into the constant power from your
car, because then you may forget to turn off the radio when you get out and
that is when you will have problems.

When my friend and I delivered pizzas we each had one in our cars. Very handy.
