I am getting a tippmann 98 custom and I was looking at the red dot sights and scopes and I was wondering if anyone knows what ones works on the 98c and does it require me to get a elbow that moves the hopper to the side a bit so I could see through the scope, also does it comes with a velocity adjuster out of the box or do I have to get one ------------- I do all my own stunts, most of the time |

In paintball, scopes are useless. You do not get any type of range in paintball that would justify a scope, also scopes lead to tunnel vision which leads to you getting shot by someone standing right next to you without even knowing it. Your best bet if you really want a sight, is a red dot sight with no magnification. Tippmann markers out of the box come with a Forward Velocity Adjuster which adjusts the velodity by slowing down the airflow thorugh the powertube. -------------

you don't need an elbow to move the hopper, it's already off set. Also, unless you really have your heart set on getting a scope you shouldn't, my friend got a red dot scope (no magnification) for his 98 custom and after playing one game he took it off, it just got in the way. |

Scopes and red dots are worthless. The only time they look good on a paintball gun is for aesthetic purposes only. You won't need to worry about the hopper being in the way.

The thing to remember about paintball is that you can actually see the rounds as they fly from your marker to the intended target. It's like having tracer rounds, you fire and adjust based upon where the round hits. ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

I have seen a few good setups with reddots. You have to set the sight to a certain range (where you usually shoot from) and if you have an accurate marker it may help quite a bit. ------------- Stay low, run fast, and hope that paintball doesn't hit your... http://www.deltasquad.info/">

st any that fit a dovetail will. i had an adco reddot site. it was pretty nice but i included it to help sell my 98. there are a few that arent quite so tunnel visioned though. basically any without a tube construction wont be quite so tunnely. ------------- Stay low, run fast, and hope that paintball doesn't hit your... http://www.deltasquad.info/">

3/8'' dovetail sights work on 98's. Just make sure its not weaver. -------------
