Can anyone tell me how long the flatline is? I'm not talking the entire assembly, just the length of the barrel from the the tip to the front of the gun.

I've got a 14" smart parts barrel now, and want something that will give me greater accuracy and range...while not altering the look of the gun...btw it's a 98c.

Also, at the risk of opening a huge can of worms, is the flatline worth it? If not, what other options are there?

The flatline will give you greater range, but the barrel creates that range by causing backspin on the ball. The problem is at that range your accuracy is very limited, and the chances of getting a ball to break are very low because the velocity decreases at the same rate of a round fired from a normal barrel. By the time the ball reaches the distance of about 150ft it is probably only traveling 175fps.

So will going with another product help, or all they all pretty much going to offer the same thing = greater range/less velocity...?

And while we're on the subject of flatlines...can anything be mounted on them...like a scope that I just ordered?...can't really tell by the pics I've found on the 'Net.

Btw...I believe I've been able to track down an answer on my first question. Barrel length is 14" for the 98c and somewhere around 9" for the A-5...can anyone confirm this?

Thanks in advance. This is a geat forum...lots of knowledge...

I was looking into buying a flatline for my A-5.  But does it really help that much?

what happens if you break a ball in the flatine?  do you have to take your gun appart in order to clean it out?

The length is correct.

Scopes are pointless in paintball. If anything they hinder you by causing tunnel vision. I love people who use scopes, I walk up right next to them and bunker them while they are looking down it thinking they are an ub3r 1337 5n1p3r.

They only two products that offer greater range are the Flatline and BT Apex systems. Both products work on the same principle  of backspin and have the limitations.  Every other barrel shoots the same range.

A pull through works wonders.

flatlines are good if you need to get people to put their heads down though.  Although I will say I have watched my paint and other peoples paint litterally float by at a point that you just watch it and move out of the way... maybe even catch it and throw it back.

Its impossible to catch a paintball fired by a flatline, no matter how far its gone and how slow it LOOKS like its going. Velocity does decrease, but you still cant play catch.

As for flatline Im PRETTY sure it goes 14 inches off the gun?

And I wont get into if you need it or not. I dont need it because ive never needed to shoot farther than I have, but if you have ever ranted about your short range in a game then hey maybe.

I was exagerating because it slows down so much.
