| My A 5 has alot of bad things happen to it when I play in cold weather, 30 degrees or lower, because the CO2 loses pressure at those temps. Is there anything I can do to improve it's performance at thsoe temps? |

1. Get HPA 2. If you cant afford HPA get an expansion chamber 3. Get an anti-siphon kit on the tank and have it proffessionally installed.

CO2 doesn't loose any pressure, it actually causes the marker to shoot "hot" because too much CO2 enters the valve and is allowed to expand in one-go in cold temps.
Anyway, in regards to the issue you are having, an X-chamber or remote line will help allow the CO2 to expand from a liquid state before it enters the valve a lot better. HPA/N2 are the ultimate solution as neither turn to liquid under the pressure in the tank or at the temperatures that you experience playing on this planet. Now, out on Uranus or Pluto, that'd be a different issue. ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

I am having the same problem now. I either brake balls in the barrel or brake them 3 feel out of the barrel. I have had this marker for 2 months played 3 times.... I use HPA... I have tired 3 different barrels.. Flat line.. J&J 14 in and the stock one.... I have tired 5 different pain balls. They all broke at the same rate. I even dropped FPS to 190 same issues. The First two times it was warm out over 70. This past weekend it was misty and 40. The marker shot fine when i was home and test fired in my basement. after being out all day. So I am stumped as to why it was chopping so bad.. Right now I am looking for winter paint balls. No paint ball stores to seam to have them near me :( . |

| I haven't had a single ball break since I got my A5. Just feed issues with the cyclone and poor shot accuracy and range. I have used it 3 times with the same balls. It only started happening about half way through my day on the third time using it. The only difference was the temperature took a rapid drop from about 42 degrees to 30 in a matter of hours. The "gunsmiths" (lack of better term) told me that this was normal with this marker when the temperature drops. That same time, about 4-5 other people came in with A5's and X7's experiencing a very similiar problem to mine. |

It really does sound like a paint issue to me. The only other thing I can think of is that the cyclone isn't advancing properly in which case it would be a broken ratchet and you'd need to call tippmann for a replacement part.
The rapid drop in temperature is going to affect the CO2 by keeping it from expanding fully during rapid fire situations. It will also allow liquid CO2 to enter the valve if you keep the marker pointed at the ground for any length of time. The inaccuracies you are seeing are due to the varied speeds at which the rounds are exiting the marker due to CO2 spikes. The cyclone issues are due to too-high a pressure being applied to the system again due to the CO2's action in cold weather. The solution is to either run high-output HPA or use an expansion chamber or palmer's stabilizer with your CO2. ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

I noticed that useing a remote line with a x chamber is great in the winter, it allso keeps the barrel from freezing up, but dont fire on full auto it will ice up like crazy. But if you use a remote line with some sort of a pack, keep the bottle pack under your jacket, it will keep the co2 from getting really cold. or go hpa lol -------------

being new to pb at what temps does the co2 start to show problems? this sunday i was play in about 45-56 degree weather and towards the end of the day i was consistily breaking balls. as temp was dropping back down. is that the temp range? |

It depends on your setup for the temp. If you have an expansion chamber, remote line, or both will effect it. Your ROF is also a big factor. ------------- Stay low, run fast, and hope that paintball doesn't hit your... http://www.deltasquad.info/">
