I like the look of the A-5 with Flatline and collapsible stock..yet also the looks of the X-7 in either M-16 or Ak-47 form.  I need a little help.  I am on a budget as well..so also put that into the equation.

Looking for a nice looking gun that can perform well [shoot REAL fast without much break] and not expensive.

Also...I wouldnt get a flatline with the x-7 because it looks funky..a-5 it looks great.  I heard that the flatline on the x-7 isnt as good as on the A-5.  so the extra distance is nice...

A-5 is loud...is that a bad thing?

If you don't want to get found as quickly, then yes, it is.

But, sound can also scare someone if they aren't expecting it.

In regards to performance, the Flatline will be the same regardless as to X7/A5.

If you're looking for a high rate of fire, you're probably going to want to eventually get an E-grip for either gun. Factor that into your budget.

Taking the E-grip out of the equation... I would actually choose the A5 over the X7. For me, the A5 has a better trigger pull, out of the box.

Either one would be fine though.

The A5 is a is a great gun and good for a budget. To help stay on budget you could als go with a different barrel than the flatline.  The flatline is nice if you want range but it isnt very accurate.  I would recomend the J&J or the Lapco Bigshot.  The bigshot is nice and is much louder.  My personal prefference is the J&J.  It is quieter and they are about the same accuracy.

with either gun.. The minimum I Would get on them is the e-grip and collapsible stock. just FYI.  I like the flatline because of how it looks.  I am going for looks..and semi milsim. yet performance is still important

custom pro with e-grip I love mine and havent had any problems with it yet but if you get one with the e-grip youll also want to invest in a cyclone feeder otherwise youll just shoot air half the time because the regular hopper cant keep up.

tippmann custom pro

21" core barrel
or 11" stock barrel

I would go with as much as I hate to say it, an Ion. Cheap as hell, and they work great out of the box.

They are horrible out of the box. You need $200 worth of ups just to get it running as well as markers that are $50 less :cough:Promaster:cough:.

Jersey beat me to it... But yes, don't get an Ion, get a Promaster, do some searching and you could find out why.

Bold added for emphasis.

Appearance is a very poor reason to get a Flatline (F/L) barrel.  The F/L with perform different from most of the other barrels available.  Some people like the F/Ls performance, but many other's do not.  If you were to purchase this barrel and not like it, I doubt it would spend much time on whatever marker you got no matter how cool it looked.  I suggest browsing the forums and brushing up on the information that is available regarding barrels.

Actually, since a barrel is the piece of equipment that can affect your marker more than any other; buying any barrel based on "looks" is a bad idea.

Editing necessary due to dyslexic quoting.

Just thinking too... You could always get the lapco bigshot with the fake supressor that goes with it.  it looks similar to the flatlilne but with more accuracy.  you dont get the added range either but it is much better in hitting your target.

Fake Supressor

Together its still a little less than the flatline and you might be able to get better prices on them but this is about the same as I found everywhere.
