Hey everyone,

Just bought an A5 with e-grip, and tried changing the battery inside the grip for practice. Took off lower receiver and tombstone, ya-da ya-da, time to put it back together.

I tried reinserting the tombstone back into the power tube, but it wouldn't go in.

somehow there was a (valve?) spring in the way. Also, an o-ring and a washer fell out of (i assume) the valve as well.

I am at a loss as to what to do. After looking at the schematics for the A5 included in the manual, I assume that the valve, which is in the power tube, somehow dissassembled, and the spring popped out. If anyone knows what to do at this point I'd love to hear from you. I'd like to avoid going throw tippmann warranty repair as I'm really anxious to use the marker. If I've been unclear about anything, let me know.

Cheers

After looking at the archives,

---A-5 Stuff by Enos---

Q: "I screw the tank on, and gas leaks out of the tombstone adapter area really bad"

A: Chances are you messed with the valve, or the washer and o-ring fell out of the tombstone slot. Check to see if you forgot to put these parts back in. If you did, make sure you put them in the right order. The washer goes in first, then the o-ring. They should "snap" in, not just sit there loose.

So that's what happened. Where do I put the washer and O-ring? and how do I get the spring out of the way? Anyone?

*cough*

W00T!

!@#$in got it... almost thought I broke the damn thing, but yeah, thank god for the a5 having as large a community as this, figures that 5 people had already made the same mistake

In case anyone ever has the same problem, open up the back and get the entire firing assembly out. Get the spring to slide back into the valve, put a washer on top into the little groove, and then put the o-ring on top of that. I guess the o-ring must've slipped off at one point.

cheers
