... is a pain in the butt! I've had to clean my grinding wheel 3 separate times, un-clog my tungsten carbide cutting tool 2 times, and have burned through 3 course sanding wheels and one cutting wheel. I've only got 3 1/2 gills down on the left side of the receiver, I've still got 5 1/2 to go.... this is going to take a full day to do... UGH!!!
I remember '98s being made of pot-metal, the gills are apparently made of titanium.....   ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

I think aluminum is the worst, dosent take much to clog the blades and files. well good luck. -------------

eeew use a "fatherless son" file its a bit easier to clean, and even though it takes longer, by now you would have had most of it gone via the time you spent cleaning your cutting aparatus ------------- Insert Fail Here |

I use a some things, angle grinder (grinding wheel, and a cutting blade), metal file, and sandpaper (for smoothing out) but i think talon is useing a angle grinder? i did all of this useing a angle grinder Pic http://kurieitaa.googlepages.com/millfinal.jpg - 01 Pic http://kurieitaa.googlepages.com/mill05.jpg - 02 nothing wrong useing a grinder for the major parts, then file for the fine spots. in other words "use what your good with" to get the job done lol -------------

The problem with using an angle grinder or a file for the gills on a '98 is that they are in an area surrounded by metal that I don't want cut out. Hence, I have to use a pin-point grinding or cutting tool. ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |
