Needing to type these thoughts out.... Sometimes I sit and think about the universe. It trips me out, and makes me depressed. The universe is so incredibly massive. We are really just a spec of dust in time and in the universe. Earth. All of earth. All the people that have lived. Wars fought. Friendships, relationships, money, love, conflict..... it all means NOTHING in the scale of the universe. No one outside of earth will even know we existed. It makes me feel stupid for worrying about stuff like tests in school, because i know that we mean nothing at all. The universe. Where does it end? If it does ever end, something has to be there to stop it. A wall? But there is always something on the other side of the wall. I have come to realize it is impossible for our tiny human brain to comprehend matters as big as the universe. There are things that are WAY beyond our comprehension. Then there are thoughts like... what if our universe is a planet, inside of another universe? Ugh... And as far as the topic of the creation of the universe. Theories mention the big bang, or two parallel universes colliding, but the only thing I can think of is... where did they come from? I mentioned this earlier in the religions thread. if the Universe is constantly expanding, as is the general consensus in both mathematical and scientific communities. Shouldn't it have to RESIDE in something, that is ALSO constantly expanding? This is the stuff I've spent a majority of my time thinking about (the universe). If you're really interested, go pickup Pale Blue Dot - Carl Sagan and Cosmos - Carl Sagan. You might also look into Relativity - Albert Einstein and A Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking for a more in depth look at the universe and how it works.

I find myself wondering at times. I to often wonder, where does it end ? It must. I mean, theres so much area, and how could something never end ? And if it does end, whats the end like ? Can you go past the end into something else ? I'm sure that none of that will be known in our life time if ever. |

Same here. I heard somewhere that the human race will never understand the univserse because the thought of infinity is not compatible with our natural thought process. Although I know that infinity means forever, I still want to know where it started and where it ends. -------------

Thats where I trip out, I make a visual in my mind, the entire universe, like a big field, my mind trys to make a space that big but then I think wow, there has to be an end to it somewhere. |
