| yah i "wasted" at leat 2-3 years on that...age of empires III is pretty sweet too...I think i might actually like AOE II more however. It seems to have more variety of units plus the awesom trebuchets. |

Looking at the map, it seems like you are about to get rolled. Hard. But I have that game, even though it's so old, it's still fun once in a while. I sometimes make like 5 layers of walls, box my self into a corner, and get as many archers as I can. Then I make another wall with a gate about 200 feet in front of the 5 walls. Then I get a cavalery, and send him into their base, get a bunch of guys chasing after him, and then lead them into the gap between the 5 walls and the single wall, and lock them in and rape them with arrows. Then repeat, 'tis fun.

I play by making massive amounts of soldiers and like 1 villager per resource. Go in take over bases make a new town center there. Keep reforming my army. Organizing into the # groups. Massive War of Attrition. The only game I played that is as fun is Lord of The Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2:  ------------- Que pasa?

| I enjoy playing a game of that over the weekend once in awile. It's always fun to kill off all your villagers and make the largest army possible, then see if you can take over all the other teams with said army. |

AOEII was amazing. AOEIII sucked hard. Medieval 2- Total War is my current vice. I love that game. ------------- "Abortion is not "choice" in America. I just didn't like the gameplay. It's like they sacrificed AOE's simple satisfying gameplay to make it 3D. Plus those circle shaped maps were lame. With few exceptions, RTSs reached their pinnacle at the height of 2d games. AOE2 was right up there. ------------- "Abortion is not "choice" in America. I loved AOEII. We used to have big LAN games in school, one kid would kill us all so we finally learned to team up and take him out first.
AOEIII sucked because it was so laggy and seemed so "busy" when playing. -------------

The Close Combat series....I just got Close Combat Modern Tactics....Also possible Steel Panthers as addictive. Still get the old Commadore 64 out for this classic. Have it in DOS for Windows 95, but love the classic feel of the C-64 with this game. -------------

I've spent many hours on Close Combat III and V. I hadn't heard of Modern Tactics; thanks, I'll have to look that one up. Screenshots look like it's the same game engine as CC:V.
