Hi, I got a 98C. Recently, I put a Cyclone feed system on it, and also install the QEPH, Vortex and Lightening rod mods . After having installed them in my Cyclone, I wasn't having any grease, so I took some gun lube and put it in.

After all beeing assembled, I took my marker and started firing a few shots with it. My Cyclone works perfectly until... after a few rapid shots, it begins to smell fire (like if it was burning), I dissassembled it, but all is in place. So, can it be caused by the gun lube, that I put instead of the grease or any other reason?

Thank you for your help!

-From a guy who's desesperate and needing to see his marker working.

Could be. The friction of the parts rubbing together may be heating up the oil or something. Grease is going to provide a slicker surface, so go out and get some Dow 33 or 55 and slap some in there.

Your english is interesting, too. Where are you from?

The spelling is better than that of most of the native english speakers on this forum, but some of your word placement is intriguing. I'm not knocking you; it's just an observation.

Yeah, you definitely need a good grease for the Vortex Mod.  I use Super Lube.  It is a teflon-based grease that works great.

Yea a teflon lube would be the best because it dries hard and is nice and slik. And its not flamable like regular gun oil.
