Loved it, the movie was well directed, but it was one of those movies you had to think more about the plot and his situation then just watch a popcorn flick, this i liked about the movie. If you have seen Cast Away, "who hasn't" then you should have a rather good idea on how some people can act when left by them selves for years on end, this was a big part of the movie and I could see how someone would be acting this way if the only contact they ever had was a dog, or soccer ball. I think I kept that pretty spoiler free.. but personally... loved it.. I keep hearing people say the "Infected" look fake, I thought they looked great, the CGI effect made them feel very alien, and made you notice right away the differences of the human and the infected, and they were just plain creepy, and made you feel very tense any time one was on screen. The way I consider the movie I just watched was good, is by the way I feel coming out the theater, I felt this movie was well worth the ticket price and almost worth another, Will Smith is a great actor, and truly showed his talent in this movie. Some say the Ending was rushed, I felt it fit perfectly with the whole movie and the movies Title, "I Am Legend" I felt it finished the movie off fine, and at least it had a some what happy ending, unlike "The Mist" if you want the most shocking ending ever, see that movie... |

Just came back from seeing it. The scares were cheap and sudden (think internet screamers). Good horror in movies make me afraid of walking through the house alone, this movie didn't do such a good job of that. However, because of the circumstances of the plot, it would have been difficult to build an atmosphere of fear without complicating the behavior of the antagonists. POSSIBLY SOME SPOILERS!!! (Depending on how well you can think about it) The interjection of faith and the confirmation of it later in the movie somewhat bugged me. The church in the end being the first thing they saw made it obvious (after all the previous dialog) that a small religious message was there. I know I'm making it more significant than it should be, but I thought it was worth noting. Also, I wish the last scene yielded the opposite result. Too often apocalyptic movies end somewhat positively, and for once I'd like to see an ending where all hope is lost. Spoilers over. It was still an enjoyable movie and it definitely deserved the reviews it got. Not better than 28 days later, but not that much worse. BTW, I have the album he mentions. Me > You -------------

being in a hole makes it easier for someone to throw a grenade in and for it to not harm anyone else...but technicalities aside... i was thinking of seeing it in imax, but it was sold out and i dont have a car so i didnt feel like takinga cab too far to see it...now that i know how it ends doesnt matter anyway. |

^certainly. Even though you guys know the ending due to a specific idiotic forumer, you still don't know the rest of the story. so i'll try not to give it away.
i just thought it was a horrible plot and it was boring. ok the "cure" for cancer ended up infected people and morphing them into mega zombies. All it showed was him and sam. it wasn't really a zombie film, action film,drama, documentary, Or even a suspense. it had only bits and pieces of those qualites. i like movies that make me think or keep me on the edge of my seat and this film didn't. it just wasn't my cup of tea. resident evil films are much better. -------------

I agree completely. This movie didn't know what it wanted to be in life. It's such a waste too, because the story would be a great vehicle for dark, grim story line. Instead you never lose the feeling that you're just watching another summer action movie, only without the action. That's not even touching the barely existing plot, the aforementioned spoiler that was just a cheap way to end the movie right in the middle. None of the few actors in this movie portrayed survivors scouring the earth for other signs of humanity. There's no desperation, and to be honest the plot is thrown at you like you're too stupid to realize what's going on. Again, if you check your brain at the door, you still probably won't have fun at this movie. The effects are terrible, the acting is terrible, the only good thing I can say about it is that the scenery is incredibly. You never once feel like you're watching computer generated backdrops...which is a shame, because they're populated by lousy CG zombies and unbelievable characters. -------------
