New barrel, lose the red dot, firepower upgrade, expansion chamber, cyclone
You could also do some custom milling/painting. There's plenty to be done to it still.

polishing the internals is easy. I used steel wool, though many recommend a dremel. I also only used one grade, which I found in my basement (it just happened to be a very fine grade, though most recommend using coarse and gradually moving to fine, and i'd agree. just in case). I didn't want to use a dremel because I figure its a lot easier to go too far with a dremel than with steel wool.
I wouldn't lose the sight if you like it, but if you don't use it don't bother leaving it on.
new barrel for sure. firepower upgrade if you want, though I wouldn't recommend it (accuracy > firepower in my books, though for speedball you definitely want a firepower upgrade if thats what you play).
i recommend the SBS/Rocket Cock. cheap, but they're a great upgrade. seal up the marker, and its not hard to figure out why things inside will last longer.

Since that is the powdercoat job, I would leave it as is paintwise because the powdercoat stuff is strong. If you were to repaint it, I would suggest getting another powdercoat.

expansion chamber is for c02 low pressure kit is usually used with HPA
i would suggest a new barrel first then maybe a firepower upgarde and a
new hopper

A Lapco Bigshot Barrel is good for the price. I really never saw a need for a stock unless you were running a remote and wanted to go for a Mil-Sim look.

no i dont run a remote line. i want a stock to balance my gun a little better. that and i play woodsball more than annything. im gunna look into the bigshot. basicly im lookin for mods that will improve my accuracy and distance. firepower is kinda low in my list.

J&J's are on the top of the list when trying to find a good barrel for a low price, good choice.
As for the stock, I have no idea, I have a JCS folding combat stock, which I chose over the 5 position m4 style stock, simply because I hate plastic.

I will agree on the stock. I have a 5 position and it is nice and all but i am thinking of trading it for a folding stock. The main thing to watch for on the 98 is some of the stocks sold wiggles around because of poor build. when I had a 98 I knew a few people that ran into that problem.
As for the barrel J&J is my personal favorite. Lapco makes an excellent barrel too but it will def let people know you are firing anywhere on the field. if you want people to put their heads down though it is a great intimidator. the J&J is a bit quieter and it extremely accurate as well.

Fake: defined by Webster as counterfeit, sham, imitation or fraud. (As in "doesn't really suppress.") Duh.

If you like to play speedball, don't get a stock. It's really hard to look down your sights on a 98 if you have a stock. Try a different ASA/drop forward that doesn't angle your tank down like a stock 98 ASA does.. J&J barrels are great. I have one and use it over my Empire Kit whenever I can.

1st: I would upgrade from a hopper to a loader....so you don't have to do the shake and bake.....
2nd: Barrel...J&J...look for a deal..even used...also nothing wrong with a progressive barrel either....I have one on one of my A-5's...
3rd: Stablizer/Volumizer....do you use Co2 or Hpa?
4th:-100th...your ideas can go from mild to wild...
I personally don't like the rear bolt/hammer on the LPK the sear to bolt engagement is very lacking in the design...I'm in the process of milling mine....some may disagree..but I would avoid the LPK and save the money to purchase another marker to add to your collection....
