Conan O'Brien grew a beard. My friend said he came back without his writer and grew a beard, I didn't believe him, but now I see. I'm shocked.

Tis all.

Yahh sorry made a mistake Letterman also grew a beard not Leno. Leno with a beard would be weird and hilarious.

I think they are having a beard off, we had one at school, they can be pretty
entertaining.

They are both growing strike beards. Meaning that they won't shave until the writers get a fair deal.

conan sucks up just like leno to every celebrity, cant stand watching them, they are both terrible.  At least letterman seems unaffected by celebrity status, makes fun of them, then invites them on his show to make even more fun of them.  Letterman is the only one of them all to sign an agreement with the screen writers. Big hairy deal, leno and conan are growing beards in support of the strike, they sure have no problem crossing the picket lines though.

Like the writers don't have enough money already.

They didn't just cross the picket line, they've struck a deal. They support the strike, and found a way to continue.
On a sidenote, I've been debating a beard

It's too bad they can't just fire the writers and hire some of the thousands or people out of college that'd be happy to get half the pay...

Thats how I feel, I'm sure they already make enough to live a comfortable life.

Not to mention, it would be a nice change over the often repetitive shows and movies coming out nowadays.

Get some new ideas in there.

Yea, maybe if they weren't a bunch of greedy bastards and actually enjoyed writing shows and were grateful for their job they wouldn't complain as much.

Ehh... I wouldn't take it that far.

I'm sure they do enjoy what they do and may want more money but this is a crappy way to do it for everyone.

However, if they did somehow fire all the "current" writers, I wouldn't feel bad for them at all.

I know they must enjoy writing, but they feel the need to do all this for some pay. And we all know they have enough pay to live a decent life as it is.

conan/leno may have a deal to cross the picket lines, wga picketers were trashing them pretty hard regardless.  wordlwide pants has a 3 year deal, it's probably going to be the same deal the rest of the big media sign anyways.  I've been involved with contract negotiations before, it's ridiculous, sometimes spend a day over how a sentence is worded.

You're an idiot. They are striking because since the advancements in new media (DVDs , video-streaming, etc.) the writers haven't seen a dime. It's unfair that the brains behind Movies, TV shows and radio are getting exploited and under-paid. You're telling me if your company was receiving a ton of profit from newly opened market and your paycheck wasn't going up at all you wouldn't think it was unfair?

I would do something about it, but not so severe.

If there was 12,000 of you I bet you would do the same thing. Think before you speak.

I doubt all 12,000 feel so strongly about it. But I'm done debating it.

No, because you're wrong. But please, tell me if you, and 12,000 others were the driving force behind something, the entire reason it made money, but you weren't seeing an extra cent from it, what would you do?

You say you'd do something about it, so let's hear your solution.
