Or any hopper for that matter.

Good 'ol black athletic tape. I will put a small strip on the feed neck after I sand it down.

Sorry Impulse, but that looks just terrible.

Take Zippo's suggestion and sew up a tight fitting hopper cover.
I think that's a great idea.

Certain colors are more brittle. I have a black reloader and I never even got to use it. The feednec broke, the first time i put it on my Angel.

My Ripdrive wheel also snapped.

Ya I am surprised no one has made hopper covers yet. If you want shiny tape just use electrical tape. You could even style your hopper with coloured hockey tape.

they havent made covers yet because it costs more to keep replacing parts.  a good market for them though if you could make them and then sell them on ebay.

The only problem I have had with my shell is the feedneck broke off. It happens from people over tightening the feedneck with certain kinds of feednecks that begin to etch into the feedneck of the shell.

Otherwise, it is made of polycarbonate just like the other top name brands. Black will last you the longest though.

Shells don't really break all that much...

Feednecks break because fools sand them down rather than buying a new gun feedneck

Ive had my Egg2 for a couple of years now, I just replaced the shells when I got it, and Ive never had problems since.

And to replace egg shells, way way cheaper than Halo/Reloader shells.

Impulse, you can always go here if you want to make your fix-it job look nicer:  http://www.barrelsleeve.com/ - http://www.barrelsleeve.com/   They make custom coverings for just about any hopper or barrel.

hopper covers are also NOT tourney legal.

Neoprene covers are not.  Lycra covers are NPPL legal, I believe.  Animal Paintball makes both.

Duh. it's like wearing a hoodie underneath your jersey to add more cushion for bounce. Many outs in speedball are from hopper hits.

The covers from BarrelSleeve are very thin (about t-shirt thickness or less) and offer no padding or protection for the hoppers.

I accually know of a way to make a better hopper cover, but i've yet to try it. If you cover your hopper in a release agent (Vaseline) and cover it in epoxy(as well as use some waxed paper to create a clamshell design) you should have a very nice extra shell to add strength.

Although it will look horrible unless sanded/painted and clips/screws to clamp the halves together.

Cheap and effective. I like it. I'll use it when I get my Halo.

Or skateboard grip tape if you want something super-rough on the outside.  I'm not really familiar with hockey tape, not a big market for hockey supplies in the south.
