The ski jump thread, and a snowboard magazine I have made me think of this. I could be way, way off on this, but I think this is a more canadian thing...so...
Americans, what is this:
Canadians, if they don't know, don't tell them. I want to see if this is true or not.

No clue. Though I had an idea to build something like that many many years ago, and did. I didn't know someone already made them though.

I live in the ski slope part of PA, and I have seen them before, but I wouldn't have known what they were called, nor have I ever ridden them.
I don't think these threads are a US vs Canada thread...it's just the difference in cultures. When I visit my sister in Tennessee, born and bred Southerners often ask us about how different certain things are.

For the most part you are right. But every region has their own unique cultural 'quirks'. So, compared to northern America, it isn't very different from Canadian culture. However, drive into New Mexico and Arizona, you'll find a culture that has more in common with Mexican culture.

Gyarr. The yanks need to lighten up a bit. And in Quebec we used to call them "trois-ski" because us quebecers are all smart and stuff.
Seriously though, as far as pop culture goes, the yanks and canucks are basically the same.
The only thing that makes us different is the level of retards masquerading as normal people in the states and farmers who serial kill hookers in canada.
At least we're polite about it ;)
