I use teflon tape, though both should work. Theres a sticky about this though, you should read it. Everything you need to know will almost certainly be in there.

| For me, it depends how much i plan on moving things. I use teflon on things that get moved a lot (some air hoses-i change set-ups a lot). Next is blue loctite for situations simialr to the tape, i just don't use loctite too often. and lastly, red locktite, barely ever. i think the only spot i have it on now is my valve screws on my 98. |

I used to use teflon tape only.
Now I use purple (low strength) LocTite. Doesn't require the use of heat or high-torque to loosen back up. I never used Red on anything paintball related. And used blue rarely. |

I just used some teflon tape on my hose fittings but I may switch it with red loctite since i never really change them at all. it will also give it a cleaner look without the over lap of the white tape. ------------- Stay low, run fast, and hope that paintball doesn't hit your... http://www.deltasquad.info/">

Use the tape. Read the 'warning' on a tube of Loctite. There is even a emergency phone number to call on the tube! You should not have contact with your skin/eyes. Don't take the top off the tube with your teeth! I do not think the fluid in locktite would be good for a o-ring. Use the tape. |

So, explain to me why every marker manufacturer out there uses it if it isn't any good to use on a paintball marker? As for the precautions. They're only on there due to the litigious nature of people these days. I've worked with it for year and years with no ill effects. I've even ingested it. And as any airsmith worth their salt can tell you, it is very sweet tasting. ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

haha and he didnt even sue. Locktite is just as dangerous as any other product. the warnings on there are for people who do things like sue for the coffee being hot, the cruise control not being an autopilot, and getting their hand run over when trying to steal hubcaps (those are all true stories) ------------- Stay low, run fast, and hope that paintball doesn't hit your... http://www.deltasquad.info/">

Go ahead and use the poisonous stuff. I have a hot stove you can touch too. As for the manufacturer, they are using many things you might not use at home as an amateur. For a person that is asking a question, you tell him to use the non-toxic stuff (don't eat the tape!) You’re talking to kids mostly. I know Home Depot sells the stuff to anybody, they’ll sell you a table saw too; don’t let you kid play with it. As for a salty air smith they usually are not working on their mom’s kitchen table or their dresser picking their nose or eating a Doritos after using Loctite. As for the stuff tasting sweet you are right, but you forgot to tell us how it feels in your eye. Anti-freeze tastes sweet too, don’t drink it, or taste it. Give it to your dog and you can bury it in the morning. Pregnant women are not allowed around the manufacturing of the stuff. People huff airplane glue too, that is not recommended either by the way. Use the tape.

Loctite isnt really intended as a sealant, its used to lock bolts and screws that might rattle loose.

gooroo so you use any cleaning agents? Lysol, bleach, detergeant? those are poisonous too. The locktite works very well and gives a clean seal to boot (no overlapping like in tape) . Simple matter is either one works and works well. use what you like more and what works best for you. teflon tape is always good to have for quick fixes but locktite can help in alot of the more permanent situations. ------------- Stay low, run fast, and hope that paintball doesn't hit your... http://www.deltasquad.info/">
