Sorry guys if this is a dumb question but I just bought me an x7 have not had it out in the feild yet but just from shooting it around the house with no paint it seems to run out of air soo! quick mabey 2-300 shots a hole 3000 psi tank is gone, Iam worried when I go play this weekend that it will be running out of air way to fast before the round is even over. Is tippman not very air efficent? does anyone using this gun find them self filling up after every round?

with a 3000psi tank thats normal, i got a 45/3000 tank and i get about 450 shots out of it (give or take).

It does vary.

size @ psi = shots per tank

45ci @ 3000 = 500
72ci @ 3000 = 800
45ci @ 4500 = 800
68ci @ 4500 = 1100
88ci @ 4500 = 1300

you can compare these sizes to your average CO2 tanks:

9 oz = 400
12 oz = 700
16 oz = 1000
20 oz = 1300

Those are just the specs that most manufacturers give on their tanks. Either way, you still get more shots with a bigger tank, and that's the important thing.

So basically you are filling up after every round? unless you get hit right away do you ever find yourself out of air in the middle of a game? so co2 last much longer the compressed 45ci  is about the same size as a 20oz co2 and you get 3 times the shot I think I will change back to co2

if you want to, save up for a bigger hpa (air) tank. a 68/4500, hpa is cheaper to fill up and the weather dosent effect your bottle, co2 dosent like the cold (you get less shots when the tank is really cold, hpa you can play in a blizzard (thats if your paint dosent freeze).

the only downside to hpa, is that the tanks are kinda expansive, but it's worh it in the long run.

As a rather general rule of thumb, a 3000 psi system gets 10 shots per cubic inch, and a 4500 psi system gets 15 shots per cubic inch.

These are rough guestimates at best due to the air efficiency of some markers, or markers with upgrades and/or other tweaks.

As far as size it will be a little bigger but it will also be much lighter.  The 4500 is carbon fiber wrapped and that weighs much less than your tank now. The fiber tanks are more expensive as wall.  Here are a few links for some great tanks at decent prices.

They are both crossfire and basically the same tank.  I am honestly not sure of any real difference in the 2.  You may also want to check out ebay.  If you like the 45/4500 it will get you close to 800 shots and be smaller than the 68/4500 so here is a link for that one too.

Ditto.  45/3 tanks are useless and a waste of money, unless you shoot a pump.  68/45 is the smallest tank you should look at, and with inefficient guns like Tippmanns, a 92ci tank might be worth considering (and only buy 4500+ tanks regardless of size).

Tippmanns are not as ineffecient as many people think they are.  even with the cyclone they are still about the mid-efficiency.  You should still get the guestimated amount of shots per tank that you see advertised and listed above.

I recommend 68/4500...

It'll get you ~1000 shots

Which is an X7 Hopper + 6 pods...
