So i went to play with my a-5 yesterday.

The upgrades I have on it are JJ Ceramic and G36 fixed stock. The marker is pretty much stock. This being the first time using it I found it to be really loud that after each shot my ear rings....

Is there something wrong with the marker?

Cheers,

oppiee

Wow I mean yes Tippmann markers are loud because they use the CO2 for everything, but i havent heard until now someone who said their ears ring when they shoot a tippmann. You might want to get some ear plugs since it looks like you have very sensitive ears.

Mine do that but only when i shoot a real gun, rifle or pistol. But thats another thing, not that is bad is just i havent heard it before.

Yea it is a little weird. I mean i run HPA as well, and one of my friends shot it too and he got the same reaction.

I used to own a pmi pirahana and that didnt do much to my ears....

I really dont know what to tell you man. I know is loud but to me is not a big deal and yes is probably the loudest marker there is but not that big of a deal. Now you and your friend got that reaction, i really dont know what to say. The only thing is if you dont like it, sell it because you wont make it any quieter or at least quiet enough to make a difference.

Could it be that i screwed up putting it back together when i took it apart?

I dont think so. Tippmanns are loud no matter what you do to them. Anyways if you put it back incorrectly it would not function properly.

They arent that loud, get a better barrel with more porting on it and it wont be loud.

I thought the Viewloader "VL Maxis" was louder then my a5. but not to the point that my ears would ring tho. Yes vector's are loud, more fun tho :)

Why do you want to make it less loud? You're doing it wrong.  Put an Intimidator on that baby and make the OTHER guys' ears ring.

No, Tippmanns are loud period.  It has nothing to do with the air source.

Nor the barrel as someone said and quoted my post. The ported barrel doesnt make a noticeable difference since they will still be louder than most markers. Nothing you do to a tippy will make it as quite as some other markers as he would like perioddddddd. If you dont think so, than spend a couple of hundred bucks and get back to us and let us know of the outcome.

What he is saying is that they use compressed gas in general. Papiriqui seems to know what he is talking about, but many people mis interpert what he says.

Ya it is quite odd. I am already using JJ ceramic which should be pretty quiet. Its not really the sound coming from the barrel because it seems like the noise is at the rear of the marker. (maybe when the hammer hits)

It is quite surprising. If i have to i will wear a ear plug beacuase it is only at my right ear where the marker is close.

Cheers,
