I've seen over a dozen kinds of delrin bolts, some look identical to the stock one, some utilize inner o-rings, others have grooves on the exit side of the bolt, and a few are shaped like the outer part of the paintball, not to mention some are plastic, others aluminum, and even a titanium one.... (a bit over the top??) IF you've dealt with them, are you aware of any that help in preventing ball breakage? I switched from the stock aluminum bolt of an autococker to a delrin bolt and I've noticed a few less breaks. It is lighter which is nice.

Delrin is a self lubricating plastic. It never needs to be oiled. The rest of the function is in the design of the bolt. |

If we're talking Tippmann and not Autococker... I've yet to see any advantage whatsoever with a replacement aftermarket front bolt. It's already made of a plastic that doesn't require lubrication, and don't see how putting a different plastic one in there would prevent ball breakage in any way.
Now on a gun that originally came with a metal bolt (like my Intimidator, or the Autocockers mentioned above), yes... there are advantages in weight and self-lube properties vs the stock bolts. |

when i switch'd over from the aluminum stock bolt to a derlin bolt on my autococker, i noticed it cycled faster and was a little bit more quite, even better that i dont have to oil the derlin bolt. any gun that has a steel or a aluminum bolt, might be a good idea to replace it with a derlin one. but like shortybp seid, with tippmans thers no need to replace them, because they are allready plastic, but if you want to go right ahead. -------------

Sounds like typical marketing hype. 
Aftermarket bolts for Tippmanns have been around for a long time. Early on, I tried one or two... but quickly switched back to stock. Most others I've played with who have tried them have switched back. Now that's not to say, that others haven't come forth claiming that _____-brand front bolt has improved performance. I don't doubt their claims... I simply haven't been able to mimic them. And at this point, don't feel any real need to. My only suggestion, should you decide to try one out... is to not to spend too much money.  Afterall... it's just a piece of plastic.
