Hey I apologize in advance this is going to sound confusing, and I have no idea if this is the appropriate place to post this but.... I purchased the dead on air-thru grip for my A-5 online yesterday. But now looking at my marker, I'm not sure if I 'm going to be able to attatch it. Is it possible to disconnect the steel braided gas line from the upper reciever in a way that I have just the steel braided hose? I'd post a picture of what I mean but I'm an idiot and have no idea how. (yeah I read the PICS, SIGS, and Avatar post, but I still am clueless) |

They are usually 10 bucks or less. Get some locktite or teflon tape for it to seal it up too. whichever you prefer. Actually loctite isnt an airtight sealant. It will work, but its not what its designed to do. Use teflon tape, just make sure you wrap the tape clockwise onto the fitting, so when you screw it in it tightens the tape. Early A5's used standard gas lines, and threaded into the adapter for the built-in vertical mount. Later models used a gas line permanently attached to an ASA fitting. Pretty stupid change in my opinion, why give people a built-in vertical adapter, then force them to buy a new hose when they make use of it? -------------

I agree...I was very dissappointed when I found out I'd have to order more hose. I'm not sure on what you want me to do with the teflon tape. Do you put the teflon tape on the threads of the hose? |

Macroline is extremely cheap if you don't buy it from a paintball shop. Pro-shop- $3 a foot Ordered from a retailer online- $0.35 a foot |

Yeah, macroline is cheap, and you don't have to worry about getting the perfect length like you do with SS Hoses. Stainless Steel hoses don't bend well, and you can cut macroline to any desired length. The thing is I'm still using CO2. Macroline + cold CO2 gas = bad. As much as I'd rather use HPA, I don't have the money...although I do plan on upgrading to it eventually. |
